Newbie from Atlanta

(19 posts)
  1. Hi Everyone, long time lurker, recent poster and new intro! I live in the Atlanta area with my hubby and our two rescued kitties Tux and Ginger. They are two years old and the orphans of a feral momma cat. We found them at the age of 2-3 weeks with their brother, a grey tabby who has found a fur-ever home with a friend of our neighbor and has his very own big sister kitty. We were originally only going to keep the Tuxxie but as you can see (if the Avatar shows up), the little girl kitten is a gorgeous little Torbie who I named Ginger. She is such a little sweetie and keeps her big brother in line. As most of you cat lovers know, two are better than one. They are inseparable and we are so blessed to have found them - such a joy to have around. I work from home and both of them are excellent company during the day.

  2. Hi Annie, welcome to TDK! I live in the Atlanta area too. I have 4 sweet fosters at the moment, plus one indoor cat (Wolfie) who never goes out, three outdoor cats that never come in named Lucky, Boo Radley and Jimmy the Weasel (sprayers, they have a nice porch to live on and sleep in the garage at night) and two cats that go in and out, 120 and Teensie. Welcome to the fluffiest place on the internet!

  3. Hi Catwoman, you have a full house for sure! Love their names too, especially Boo Radley, "To Kill a Mockingbird" is one of my favorite books and movie. This is a great site, you are right about the fluffiest place on the net ;o) From what I've seen so far, it's like one big family of kitty-loving friends. Look forward to chatting more with y'all in the future.

  5. Hi Annie - welcome aboard. It's always nice to have a lurker come out of the dark! You're right about two being better than one - I have 2 - a 4 yr old female Siamese called Dara, and a 8 mth old tabby named Ringo who is a continuous bundle of mischief - he's the one in my avatar. You'll probably read about some of his 'gathering' exploits some time. I live in New Zealand - there are 3 of us TDKers down here. The others are Jcat and Moonshadow (MS) - MS is my older sister. We're usually the last ones on the Night Shift threads and often the first ones on the Morning Cafe threads because of the time difference. I look forward to chatting with you and hearing more about gorgeous little Ginger and Tux.

And while I was typing Jcat got in in front of me! Hi Jcat!

Annie, you should definitely look out for Ringo's exploits, they're hilarious...

  8. Hi Annie, I'm the last of the New Zealanders, I'm KK's wonderful sister. Moonshadow or Shadz is my one and only cat. She is a black dappled Tortie. It's winter here now and she is fat so we call her Butter Ball. My daughter Airy also posts but from California.
Welcome in from the dark, stay and play and laugh.

  13. Hello Annie welcome to TDK. I am a bit partial to Tuxedos! I have Rumpleteaser my uncuddly kitteh and Deuteronomy (Deuter Bug) my baby in the finest tuxedo! He is a cuddler--except when Teaser is around me. I am pretty sure, although she is 7 pounds and he is 18.5 pounds, that he is afraid of her now that she has decided enough is enough and will fight back! I also have the keeper of the Kittehs, Lissy the head of the Goggies, Kasey my collie sweetheart and noe Sherlock my 12 week old Basset Hound. As I type he is playing with Deuter and a cat toy--he thinks he is a cat, but never fear Deuter Bug will set him straight! Don't forget to come and chat in the Cafe or the Night Shift. Look forward to more stories of you clan!

  19. Hi again everybody, I've been out to Catster and checked out everyone's little babies and they are all beautiful. It's so obvious how much you love them all. Thanks for making me feel so welcome, I'll have to figure out how to make some Catster pages for Tux and Ginger so I can show them off more in all their glory. They have converted my husband into a cat lover, that's for sure. The picture in my Avatar is Ginger's baby picture, they turned 2 in April and she is now a gorgeous young girl. Tux is a big boy, almost twice her size, I think they definitely had different daddies, lol. They both love to come jump up on my desk when I'm working and look out the window, Tux especially gets cozy and lays on the modem because it's warm and gives off a subtle humming noise. He spends all day there sometimes. One great thing about having cats at work vs dogs is they don't bark during conference calls ;o). Anyway, I look forward to learning more about everyone and enjoying this great group of friends.
