    Several of my friends have had it done and have been absolutely delighted with the results. Mind you one was a marathon runner and had to have 2 more done as he kept wearing them out........

    Thanks so much for all the encouragement and the testimonials!!! I am not contemplating a marathon after the surgery, but I would like to be able to walk or jog the Crescent City Classic next spring - a 10K - here in New Orleans. My daughter has run it the last two years, and I would love to do it with her next year! And ride in my Mardi Gras parades pain free!!! That way I can throw more beads!!!

    I wonder how many of us have bionic parts? Do we have enough to make a whole new person?

    I think almost anyone who has had a joint replaced will agree with what's been said here - the pain you have as a result of the surgery will be so worth it when your hip doesn't hurt anymore.

    My grandmother had her hip replaced when she was 81. She did great!

    It is so nice of you to think of having your daughter post for you when you are out of surgery. :)
