  1. I've never even heard of most of these flavours... Truly we are deprived in NZ. Plus, when I was a child, you weren't even allowed to call it ice cream here unless it was made with real cream (grumble, grumble, mutters about good old days...*).

Okay, when I was in Pittsburgh, I did get to eat (in volume) Haagen Dasz mango sorbet. MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

But here in NZ, my favourite flavour is coffee. Yum, yum, yum.

  2. I was going to say something about Blue Bell's Pecos Canteloupe and Creme, but WWM beat me to it :(

My other favorite flavor no longer exists. In my hometown of Athens, GA was a little nirvana called Gorin's Ice Cream Parlor, on College Ave. right on the other side of the Arch from my beloved University of Georgia. They made a vanilla-based flavor swirled with cherries and Oreo cookie crumbs in honor of our mighty Bulldawgs of red and black.

The name? What else--"Dawg Food"! It was their most popular flavor. How the parlor failed is beyond me.

  3. Hi everyone!
I am currently addicted to Malted Milkball from Ciao Bella. I also like nutty flavor like pistachio and hazelnut. (Nocciola)

  4. Normally when I name a favourite ice-cream flavour I would just go "chocolate chocolate chocolate!!!".
Well, my other faves are lemon sorbet, chocolate ripple ice-cream and cookie ice-cream.

  5. Well now I have decided on something more delicious! Double Cone Crunch, Birthday cake, Raspberry Peach Cobbler by Ben & Jerry's, mint chocolate, I could go on forever...... YUUUUUUUUUUUM....... I LOVE ICE CREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....... sorry I had my ice cream moment!

  6. My two favourites are Hokey Pokey, as MS mentioned, and Goody Goody Gumdrops. Goody Goody gumdrops is a bubblegum flavoured icecream with gummi lollies mixed in it.
Hokey pokey is vanilla flavoured ice cream with little round pieces of hokey pokey mixed in. If anyone wants to try it, it is now stocked in all SoCal and Nevada Albertsons under the brand NZNaturals.
    Ahh, yummy.
Then there is the legend of L&P icecream. L&P is a nice soft drink available in NZ only (stands for Lemon and Paeroa, Paeroa is the town it's made in and the water used in it). The ice cream is a legend as it's only made in one store and only in Paeroa. I have tried to find it in the past but failed, the store was closed, but my sis Meegz has had it. Ahhh, bliss.

  7. Ailuromaniac, bacon ice cream is just plain wrong. I like bacon as much as the next person (but probably not nearly as much as Huddy's Mama), but bacon and ice cream were never meant to be together.

  8. Got to be Ben & Jerry's Phish Food!

  9. As I was checking out what Phish Food ice cream was, I saw this flavor from B&J...Cinnamon Bun ice cream...Caramel Ice Cream with Cinnamon Bun Dough & a Cinnamon Streusel Swirl. I've never seen this in my neck of the woods. Anybody ever try this?

  10. We don't even get the cobbler flavour B&J over this side of the Atlantic!

  11. Cinnamon Bun B and J is good but I wouldn't want it too often. It is kinda sweet!

  13. Vicki,
You said "bacon ice cream is just plain wrong..."
I only expressed surprise that HM did not list it as her favorite.
There was no implication that it was mine. In fact the subject of the thread is non chocolate, non vanilla or non strawberry favorite. I have not expressed a favorite because in my humble opinion if it does not say Chocolate in the flavor it can not be ice cream.

  14. Ailuromaniac, LOL, although you can list a combo flavor as your fave (chocolate raspberry, for instance)

  15. If you must know I love a particular ice cream sundae that I have not had in nearly 10 years. Swensen's Sticky Chewey Chocolate with Hot Apple topping YUM!. WWM may be familiar with the ICE CREAM FACTORY in Midland.

The nearest Swensen's is now about 60 miles away.

  18. Yes Kotek, sounds like a difficult thing you might have to do-eat ice cream! I have to say I don't normally like all those ice creamy desserts but I tried a brownie batter blizzard at DQ the other day and thought I had died and gone to heaven! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

  19. An ice cream factory here in Midland???? Gosh, I don't think that it's here anymore because I've never heard of it. But I'll start asking around!

  21. I'm having a Rita's georgia peach misto shake. Great lunch, huh? It was tough deciding on that or strawberry margarita. They have different flavors each day so I told the girl working there that I hope it will be on the menu the next time I go!
