  5. Well, first of all, thank you for the welcome. I am owned by the lovely Lil' Momma ( avatar ) and Kalico a 2 year old tortie. They are both well behaved wonderful babies. My issue is with Momma. She's about 4 years old and about a year ago, started pooing on the carpet in the basement. I have 2 litterboxes, and keep them clean. I've tried changing the litter, putting a box where she relieves herself ( always the same spot ) and aversion techniques like cinammon smell on the carpet. Nothing works! I'm glad it's not spraying, but still! Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  7. Hi Joany, Welcome to the TDK litter. Does Momma have worms? Maybe she is trying to tell you to check her poo. If the rug isn't an expensive important rug, I would throw it away. Vinegar helps with neutralizing the smell in the spot that she likes.

    Good luck!

  8. No, she doesn't have worms, she is checked regularly by the vet and is strictly an indoor baby. I will try the vinegar, hadn't thought about that. Thanks!

  9. Welcome Joany! I know you will get lots of good advice here! What a beautiful avatar....oh, those eyes :) I think when cats do that sort of thing, there is something amiss, either they are upset about something or physically not feeling right. I sure hope you can get this resolved!!

  10. Tina; Funny you should mention worms, I just rec'd a newsletter from Drs. Foster & Smith. One of the topics was how indoor cats can be infected by heartworms. Something I did not know! Thank you, and I will have Momma checked. She's not showing any of the other symptoms, so I'm sure she's okay, but better safe than sorry. Thanks again!

  11. Spot test the vinegar. It can take the color out of some carpets.

  12. Thanks SoxsMom, I should, but it's ugly green shag carpeting. I think it once belonged to the Brady's! So it's probably indestructable!
