  1. Girls had a great time, even though it was sad!

  2. Katthays - I have no weight issue with the protein powder. But I also do a lot of physical excercise. A full serving of the protein is only 117 calories. It's helping to build muscle - which we all know weighs more than fat... so perhaps that's where some of the gain comes from.

WWM - that was one thing I learned early on from my trainer.. eat (or drink) protein within 15 minutes of a work out. I would take my container of powder with me to the gym and mix it with water, drink it and then do my cardio.

  3. Okay, I am back with a jug of protein powder that is so big I'll probably still be drinking it when I'm six feet under. Good grief - how much do they think I'm going to use???? I got vanilla so that I can make fruit smoothies.

2P, my trainer harps on me about getting in protein within 30 minutes of finishing a workout. I'll be close - maybe a bit longer. I told the gym manager that he should actually put in the smoothie bar that we were told would be there. I'll bet that it would make money. I like to sit in the sauna after I work out and I could take a smoothie in there if we only had the smoothie bar!

JR Myers is WAY better looking than Elvis!!! I read that they asked him if he would mind putting on weight in order to play the older Henry VIII. He said yes he would mind! Why mess up that hunky body???

  4. Yuck, WWM! I was starving last Saturday at the gym and had to drink a Muscle Milk light in lieu of anything else. NASTY stuff! I didn't even manage to drink half of it! For whatever reason the only one I like is Muscle Milk Banana - everyone else seems to hate that stuff. I generally don't drink those energy or protein drinks, though.

XBF stopped by with my mail about half an hour ago. He knocked on the door and Mi ran and hid under the ottoman. Bobby ran, too - straight for the door! Yay - a visitor! Bobbylikes XBF and I'm pretty sure he thought the guy was here just to visit him! Silly boy!

  5. My trainer tried to talk us into Muscle Milk. She loves the chocolate. But I have a feeling I wouldn't like it, and boy is it ever $$$$$. I think if I add enough fruit to my smoothie, it will be okay.

  6. I don't make smoothies.... I go the way simple route. Skim milk and protein powder, shake, drink LOL Never tried Muscle Milk.

  7. Nooooo, I just discovered that Bobby's trip to the vet and subsequent wonderful tiredness is on Monday when I'm sleeping over at the dog-sitting house! What a waste - I should have planned that better and gotten more restful nights out of it!

  8. OK, 2Pop and WWM on the protein stuff....I do not weigh myself...only happens once or twice a year when I go for my physicals! I go by how my pants fit, and I swear they would be tighter when I used the protein supplement.....I would not mind being bulkier on the top, but I sure don't want a bigger butt or legs :) LOL!
Glad JR Meyers refused to gain weight for the role....why ruin a good thing :)

  9. LOL, GreatDane!

  10. :)
I'm seriously considering trying to get him in tomorrow instead! I picked Monday because that's the only day I know the vet I want him to see works. Arrrrgh!

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  11. GD, that is too funny! Try tomorrow so Bobby sleeps! WWM and GD, I HATE the muscle milk! I had a coupon once for a free one and that is a good thing cause I threw it away! YUCK! In case you haven't seen, Karenopa is back, good news, see my KARENOPA thread!

  12. Katt.... hmmm.... bulking up from the protein. I hear the line from Hans and Franz on Saturday Night Live "We're going to PUMP you UP" LOL I wish I could stay away from scales! I have this sick compulsion to know that number. As I've been working with the trainer, my clothes are looser, but my weight is up. My head knows it's muscle... but I still gasp ! I have actually taken a scale and tossed it into a snow bank one year.

  13. I went to Petsmart this afternoon to see about a carrier for Miss Lady (we're looking at moving and I am NOT going to drive two hours holding a complaining, dead weight cat!), and made the mistake of going to see the kitties there for adoption.

There was this beautiful gray and white boy in there who cried the minute he saw me. I knelt down to pet him, and he rubbed against my fingers and reached through the bars for me. I could just hear him saying, "Mama, get me out of here!" (and now I'm tearing up thinking about him.)

I wish I could get him. But between the move and Miss "I'm the only kitty here" Lady, it's just not possible. :(

  14. Maybe Miss Lady would like company on the drive? :-)

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  15. I wish, WWM! She doesn't like other animals at all.

  16. I had a really difficult time when I went to the Humane Society with my sister to get her cat. I wanted to take all the cats and kittens home with me. It tore at my heart to leave them!

  17. Argh! Vet just called me. Lady has worms, apparently, and they wanted to give her worming medicine. To the tune of $150.00 total! The estimate they gave me when I dropped her off was $75!!!! I swear, it's worse than having your car worked on. I've been out of work since January, and the $75 was the most I could manage. Time for a new vet, I think, and no more Banfield.

  18. BT I had hoped you would be snatched up by now. Are you thinking of relocating for better job opportunities? My continued prayers that the right job will land your way.

  19. Ok, trying to come up with an idea for supper. What is everyone having tonite????

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  20. Yes, SM. I'm waiting to hear about a job I interviewed for in Alabama on Tuesday. They liked me, we're just waiting for a background check and for the attorney to make up his mind. He's general counsel to an insurance company and I would be his secretary.

  25. *pushes a plate through the wormhole*

Still warm from the oven! But you have to pass the plate back here when you're done, for Bones the Dishwasher to have a go at!

  29. MCW soon my baby will be in your neck of the woods. She leaves tomorrow to join her group to travel to the UK. She will be in England, Wales, Ireland, and last Scotland. It will be a wonderful experience, but she is my baby and so far from home. This is killing me a little.
