  1. How are you doing today Molly?

  2. Ohhhm, SM, I would feel the same way!

  3. I am ok, hanging in there. Every day a little stronger!

  4. KH marinate the salmon in teriyaki sauce. Just watch the sodium level. Fresh tuna cooked medium rare to medium is perfect! I just haven't acquired the raw taste yet. I have eaten some good sushi, but it will never be a favorite--I like my fish cooked.

  5. I think I'll be a basket case the next few weeks.

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  6. No sushi for me either.....The teriyaki does sound good, but do have to watch the sodium levels for my hubs....he is on a 'heart friendly' diet....I know they have lower sodium teriyaki....thanks for the tip!!!!

  7. Why's that SM? What have I missed?

  8. Her wonderful daughter is coming to the UK tomorrow! Keep an eye out for her!

  9. Bella, where in Alabama? I lived in that wonderful state for 12 years and you would be a welcome addition! KH, I used to liberally sprinkle salmon with lemon juice and dill. Or mid dill with some mayo, coat the salmon and do in a foil packed and bake. Makes it really tender and the dill does wonders.

  10. {{{{{SM}}}}} Just think of all the excellent adventures that she is going to have! The trip of a lifetime!

MCW, I was so prepared to be impressed by your culinary skills. You should have left out the supermarket disclaimer.

Katthays, we eat salmon all of the time - we are crazy about it. One nice thing, and simple, is to grate lime peel over the salmon after you rub it with a bit of olive oil. Grill the salmon and baste it with a mixture of lime juice, chopped garlic and unsalted butter. It is delicious.

We're doing a whole chicken on the grill that will be basted with a plum jam, fresh ginger and horseradish glaze. And homemade cream corn.

  11. She will be in England, then Wales (oh how I wish I could be there), then Ireland (although not anywhere near Westmeath), and then last in Scotland. She will be living with a family in Dublin for a few days before heading to Belfast. A little leery about Belfast, but I know she is excited to be there.

  12. Oooh, how exciting!! Whereabouts in England? Is she staying with friends/family? Would you like to give her a cat friendly telephone number in case of any problems?

WWM - virtually my whole culinary reportoire is supermarket led these days!

  13. MCW you cook like me!

  15. Molly - I don't have the time (or inclination if I'm honest!) to cook any other way!

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  16. She will be in London and Birmingham. I would love for her to have a friendly number. How is the weather--she planned on rain.

  17. I'm off to do my jobs and head for bed. Chris is leaving for his Swedish football weekend (!) sometime after midnight, I want to make sure I'm fast asleep by then so he doesn't disturb me! I'll be back on tomorrow night, and will tell you all how my MRI scan went! (tomorrow pm)

  18. Sounds like the trip of a lifetime, SM! Wish I were going with her :))
About 5 years ago, our daughter went to China with her college choir....we worried, too, but she had an experience that was worth everything! They did a 'concert' on the Great Wall :)

Posted 2 years ago by katthays #

  26. Wow! I was a summer exchange student 22 years ago in Germany! Looking back now, I must have worried my parents sick SM! Especially since it was almost called off after the bombing of a nightclub in Frankfurt that attacked our soldiers (ok, so I am dating myself there!). I can understand your worry SM having been on the other side!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  27. SM, just reading about your daughter's travels, Yes you will miss her and fret but you don't need to. When Meegz our eldest went to Delaware a few years ago I worried too. She was a bit older but she was going all that way alone to live in a place I had never heard of with total strangers for 10 weeks. I needn't have worried, she made great friends, went to Live 8 in Philly,Washington DC ,New York & a dream come true she went to Trenton NJ to a Janet Evanovich book signing, and a short stay on Kent Island. Your daughter will be fine SM and return with all sorts of funny and touching stories. Ask KK about Belfast, she has been there.

Do you think this would be a good look for Bobby?...... he REALLY might attract the local girls with this!....... however, Abby and Cuddles will be there to keep an "eye" on him!.... LOL (yahoo GD, we're talking about your BOY!....)
