    I'm in Houston (not a native though) Texas as well. I'm right near I-10, really close to Katy.

Just about where your watchband would be on the right side (that is, if you wear a watch!) is where Monroe, Michigan is, and where Max and Molly and I live. We're about 40 miles south of Detroit and 17 miles north of Toledo, Ohio. Monroe is the home (not birthplace) of Gen. George A. Custer, Monroe Auto Equipment (Monroe Shock absorbers) and the La-Z-Boy Chair company.

  15. I finally got through the automated voice "Let me help you with your problem" (I think it's the devils voice) and actually spoke with a real human!!

    My phone hasn't worked since I set up phone service and they have been out here and supposedly fixed it. Well, it still doesn't work so now they will send another tech out here to try again.

    But, they wouldn't do anything about the bill "Let's wait to fix that until we figure out the problem" i.e. We want to make sure we screwed up first

  17. OK, now I am back in Alameda, CA. Best thing about Alameda is that if they start rioting in Oakland we can pull up the drawbridges and barricade the tunnel

  18. Instinct,I've found that when you get one of those automated menu things, that if you just keep hitting "0", you can get a "real" person. If that doesn't work, when asked a question, just don't answer. Then you'll get put through to a live person who, hopefully, will be able to help you. Don't let them put you on hold, though, or all may be lost!!!

  19. I'm in Glendale, Oregon but was born in White Lake, (Pontiac) Michigan. My Hubby and I live here (one yr. now) with 2 dogs and 4 Fuzz Butts (sister Susie's name for felines) :) Instinct...I've been in your hell with AT&T and fortunately won't return...hang in there..What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

  23. I did that MMM and it shot me to their Ohio customer service instead of California, even though I had typed in my California phone number when it asked for it.

    So what does Ohio do? They shot me right back to the original number I called and the first thing I hear is the sound of pure, unfiltered evil saying "Let me help you with your problem" GHAAAAA!!!

    Are you sure that's the saying Karenopea? I always though it was "That which does not kill me is lunch" :D

  25. Well, using Max and Molly's Mom's method, I am on the left side of the hand. Grand Rapids is about halfway between your wrist and the base of your pinky, just a little way in from the edge (we are about 40 miles from Lake Michigan). In the summer I spend a lot of time up in the "pinky". Right now I live with just Nibs and Nora (but have a big extended family living in the area).

    Instinct, I feel your pain, I hate dealing with AT&T. As a side note, there really is a Hell, Michigan (so I guess you could say that Hell freezes over every winter).

  28. I'm in Belen New Mexico, although I'm actually in Albuquerque at work (35 miles north of Belen). I have two kids at home, the hubby, two cats and two dogs. My oldest is in Phoenix.

  30. Bob and I are in Boca Raton, Florida, about an hour north of Miami (without traffic delays) on the East coast. We live with Bob's fishie-friends, Mo and Molly.
