  2. Am I the only Jersey Girl? I live in the mountains of northern New Jersey, near Greenwood Lake, which runs to New York State. Here 19 years with hubby and just live here. No kids, just cats. We answer to 17 year old Shaddo and 16 year old Jiggs, part meezer and part coon respectively.

  3. Living on the bank of the Yellowstone River in Eastern Montana, owned by Molly, a 4 year old tabby, currently on top of the monitor, with paws dangling. I seem to spend an inordinate amount of time moving paws out of the way to see what I'm typing.

  4. Missoula, Montana with 3 cats who say jump and the dog and I say how High. Hi, Paulajeanne and Molly, if you have 3 grizzleys and 3 bobcats riding in a van who is driving. Hint word is next years brawl of the wild is to be held in Deer Lodge at the state prison. answer to above question is The Warden. I am assuming that you saw the shameful headlines about the 3 Griz players who were arrested as they got off the bus from the Idaho game last week for armed robbery, assult, etc.

  5. Good one, Sandi! Roughly what part of Missoula do you live in? I spent so many summers there, feel I know the town pretty well. Even climbed up to the M one not to be forgotten night! Oops! Forgot to say I was barefoot at the time.

  6. Everyone is saying we need more classes to teach these kids how to behave blah, blah oh, and they want to hire someone to help the minorities intergrate better. (the athletics department that is not the other kids who have to figure it out for themselves). I think we all need to quit bowing and scraping to the athletic department--whatever they want they get no wonder these kids think they can do anything they want.

  7. Paulajeanne, Ouch. I live on in the middle of town. almost near Russel actually in what they call the slant street area but I don't know if they called it that when you were here. McCormick Park isn't real far away from me. I am about 2 miles from work which is nice. If you haven't been back for a while you will be suprized at how much it has built up here.

  8. Don't recall the tag of slant street area, but do know Russel and McCormick Park. I liked Missoula, only thing I didn't were the inversions in the summer and the horrible sulphur stink from the mills. Are any of the mills still running?

Posted 4 years ago by paulajeanne #

  9. The big mill at Frenchtown is still going but because or tough government standards really had to clean up there act so air polution is not nearly as bad as it used to be and the smell is gone except for once in a great while something happens and you can smell it. The mill at Bonner shut down and another one did also but can't remember which one. It is still to gray in the winter, though. I grew up in Drummond about 40 miles east of Missoula

  10. Sandi, we had a similar situation here. Three of our imported BB players broke into some rooms at the dorms and took cameras, CP equip, etc. Has anything been done? No, of course not. They're our team!

  11. Fortunately, the three who were arrested are still sitting in jail because the district attorney and judge think they are too dangerous to let lose so bail is really high. I read a comment in the paper that we might just care about winning too much. After these guys were arrested the coach said they were screened and had to be good people or they wouldn't have been allowed to come here. Next thing we find out is that they all had been in jail before for assult so what do you expect from the kids when the coach is a liar

  12. Winning's where it's at, I guess. So much for priorities.

  13. Anyone reading our thread will be impressed with our fair state. :) Someone writing the editor stated that the Montana coaches were doing a good job recruiting---we are going to have the best prison team ever. I liked that. I'd better go get organized for tomorrow I have to be at work at 6.

  16. Sandi, the football team in Sealy (the only team in Texas to 3-peat the state championship and they NEVER let anyone forget it!) had a deliciously-losing start to this season (0-4, including an embarassing spanking by the HS in my district--we're 2A and they're 3A). Someone actually had the AUDACITY to call in a Houston sports talk show and complain that they need to pay less attention to academics in Sealy! Thing is, there was no one in town refuting him!

Ahh, Sealy, "The Town that Can't Even Make a Whataburger Right" (unofficial motto)

  22. Sandi, that is sad about the football players, the coach should see consequences too for not telling the truth.

  26. Transplanted from Miami 30 years ago, living in Ellijay, Ga. Straight up north from Atlanta about 80 miles and also about 80 miles SSE from Chattanooga. To the natives around here, I'll always be a "flatlander."
ellijay is little rural mountain town that is now growing too fast with no real planning or zoning going on. In the midst of the drought, many of us are doing all we can to conserve water.

Live with Kelsie, 7 year old cat; Molly Margaret, 4/5 year old Beagle/Jack Russell mix; and 17 month old Maizie, a little orange kittie who rules the roost. I currently dogsitting a year ild mixed breed who belongs to a friend. Even Maizie takes cover when he's here!

  29. We are in Big Stone Gap, VA. Close to the TN and KY border. Our household consists of myself, husband, two sons (19 & 18), three daughters (18, 16, 6). We have 5 cats, Spit Fire, Kalijah, Bear, Tashe, and Spot, four tropical fish, and a cat Pominus that lives at my Mom's house. She will be 12 years old in April and I didn't think she would take a move well, besides she doen't like other cats since she has been alone so long. Any time you see my posting that looks like a 6 year old has done it, my youngest daughter would have been on here. She knows how to get to this site and how to post.

  30. Welcome, 7littlebirds! Thanks for telling us about your family. Your daughter is very welcome to post. I recommend that you limit her to the main page where each day's kitten is posted by our beloved Kitten Master. The language and topics discussed in the chat forum are sometimes inappropriate for children. :-)
