Lady has come up with a serious flea infestation, plus she's overdue for her shots. So, she was lying in my bedroom this morning, half asleep, and I grabbed her, put her in the car, and took her to the vet. She's allergic to the vaccinations, so I have to leave her all day for IV meds.
I feel like I abandoned my baby. :((

It's ok, we all do things that make us feel like bad meowmy's from time to time. You had no way of knowing! She will come back to you healthy and wanting some luvin'! Give her hugs from all of us!

Thanks y'all. :) I'll pick her up sometime after 6 this evening. I fogged the house this morning, so we should have no further flea troubles!

You'll have to fog the house again in about 2 weeks, after the eggs hatch. Most foggers only kill the live fleas, not the eggs. Try the diatomacous (sp)earth that everyone says is effective and not toxic. You are NOT bad, you did it for her benefit.

I checked the label when I bought the foggers; they are supposed to kill both fleas and eggs. *Crosses fingers*

Awww...Bell, Lady will be so happy to be rid of her fleas that she'll want to thank you! *hopefully* Fleas are the most hideous, miserable creatures ever put on this earth! Hope the foggers work for you and I hope Lady doesn't have any problems with getting her vaccinations. Poor girl. =(
BTW...We started using the diamataceous earth and it seems like it's working.

{{{Bellantara}}} I used to feel so sorry about disrupting my furrkids peaceful days of food, luvs and snoozies with traumatic trips to the vet. It was actually hard on all of us! This is the downside of parenting. You are a good and responsible meowmy. Just FYI, I had terrific luck with Diatomaceous Earth.
She's home now, and avoiding me like the plague. :) As soon as we got home, she wanted to go run through the grass. I told her I didn't pay $75 for her to pick up a new crop of fleas immediately.

Awww, it is sometimes hard taking care of our furry buddies when we have to do things we know we don't like to do but it is necessary. Sending some hugs to you Bella. You did the right thing of course and she will forgive you especially when you out the right kind of treats. Fleas are nasty little buggers and nothing worse than itchy skin.
