  1. Dear Bobby,
We know you went to the vet this morning and we all are worried about you. We are more worried about your meowmy who is beside herself with worry for you. We also pray you will be able to quit taking or at least decrease your seizure meds. Please let us know how your doctor visit went. We heard you were squeaky clean and smelled nice! Bet you looked handsome. We all love you and are here for you. (((Bobster))) (((GD))) (((Mi)))

    Hugs,
    Betty and Wilma

  3. Bob! Leela sends purrs and headbonks to you, which is quite special since she doesn't purr much and she's not into headbonks with me! She says HI to Milo too, so he doesn't feel left out.

  4. Oreo just hopped into my lap and asked if we'd heard more about Bobby yet as she's the messenger to the other sibblings. They all want to know that Bobby is healthy and well and taking his vaccinations successfully. Love & Purrrrrrs! (((Bobby)))

  5. I've managed to miss what's going on w/Bob. The different time zone & things on my plate don't help either.
Could someone please tell me what's happening to our Bobster? I Hope he's okay. {{{HUGS}}} to Bob,Milo & GD!

  6. Bob going in for yearly vaccines and follow up on his seizures. GD is nervous on the vaccines!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  7. HI Susie....Because of Bobby's history of seizures and the fact that some believe there's a chance of seizure in relation to vaccines, I believe GD said he will receive them by IV....rather than the usual injection. Poor Bobby....Poor GD! =(

  8. ((Bobby & GD)) Hope all goes well.

  9. Redford and Mitzi have been pacing all morning and keep asking when will we know how Bobby is? They are purr-aying to the Cat Goddess, Bastet for Bobby to be A-OK!

  10. I hope all goes well also. I can't understand tho why the vet would risk the chance of triggering more seizures by giving him more vaccines.
With all the ferals I've endured or come across...or just plain adopted by thru the years, more of them outdoors than indoors have recieved their first shots & some...no shots at all. I've relied strickly on feeding them healthy & looking after them closly. And I know GD takes extremely good care of her furrbabies & they are both very, very healthy. Maybe a chance should be taken by not getting his shots right away & just following his health closely. Just my opinion & I hope GD doesn't take that as a callous comment. It's not meant to be.

  13. Hi all! Sorry I took a while to report back. I have to be at work by one on Fridays, so I was in a rush.

Last night in preparation for the trip to the vet, Bobby got a bath so he'd be nice and fluffy and smell good. This morning he had his nails trimmed and he looked so handsome! Well, then it was time to get in the carrier and leave for the vet....When we got there, The Bobster had had quite the accident in horror of having to go to the vet. Yikes! Luckily the vet was running late, so I had time to try and clean him up a bit with water from the sink and paper towels. Poor Bobby! He was wet, but at least not with pee, by the time we got to see the vet.
I told the vet what I had read about Nutro and my suspicion that it may have contributed to Bobby's seizures. He said he'd never heard of that before, but he didn't rule it out since we never did find the cause for the seizures. We're going to take his pheno levels in a month or two and then we'll talk about taking him off it. The vet said that if it was the food, then he should be alright to be slowly weaned off the pheno.
He squeezed and checked all parts of his belly and Bobby showed no discomfort, which was great! Strong heart beat, too. He recommenede a teeth cleaning in the next 3 to 6 months, but we'll see. I'd rather not have him go under anesthesia unless it's absolutely necessary.
He got his shots (no IV - I think that was Bellantera's kitty who needed that yesterday). The vet assured me he would be fine. And he does have the pheno in his body to protect him from seizures.

The worst part is that I work 1 to 8 on Fridays and have to leave him home alone. Auntie Ellen is in Nashville or I would have asked her to stop by and check on him. He seemed alright when I left. Didn't seem to hate me for taking him to that evil place and was busy cleaning himself after his little accident.

Thanks for thinking of us, everyone!!!! :)
I'll let you all know how he's doing when I get home!

  14. YAY Bobby! So glad it went well! My girls understand entirely about being scared to go to the vet and having "accidents". But that's ok, you are home now and hopefully snoozing away. We will continue to pray for you and your bro Mi. Hang in there buddy!

  15. He's never had an accident before going to the vet before. He had one once but I think he just really had to go. He'd been at work with me all day and was used to driving and not bothered by it at all. Well that one day, he was crying up a storm and before I knew it, he'd peed all over and through his cloth carrier and onto my lap (I was in the passenger seat).
Anyway, I guess he's no so used to going places anymore, so he was prety scared today. He was shaking like a leaf at the vet's :(

  16. Oh Bobby, wish I lived close enough to come check on you and Mi (even if Mi didn't come out to visit!)

  17. Poor Bobby!

    Posted 2 years ago by Cats4Cats #

  18. Mi definitely would hide. But he does let Auntie Ellen give him treats under the ottoman while he looks out at her with huge eyes.

  19. Oh poor Bobby! The vet office is a horrible and scary place! Sorry you had such a trying time. Sylvester and Mia send gentle headbonks and purrs to calm you down and that you feel better. Purrs to Milo too. I bet Mi doesn't like how Bobby smells after his vet visit.

  20. Ohhh, poor Bobby! I do hope he will do just fine with his vaccinations!

Posted 2 years ago by katthays #

  21. Thanks, Karin! Bobby smells like a combination of kitty shampoo, pee and vet....
Milo is staying away. Last night after Bobby's bath, Mi was curious, but I could tell he was worried, too, that he was going to get a bath. Bobby was trying to hide from both of us!

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  22. Thanks, Katt!
As for weaning him off the pheno, I'm going to wait at least til the end of summer if I decide to try it. I'll be busy with pet-sitting over the summer and I'm going to want to be around as much as possible when we try that.

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  23. Pssttt, Bobby - sometimes I get so scared about going to the doctor that an accident is not out of the realm of possibilities! Don't feel bad about that at all. Besides, it's all organic, right?

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  24. Hehe! I was pretty embarassed, though. Bobby gets so scared at the vet's that he just goes limp. His belly was all soaked, so I held him on his back in the crook of my right arm and grabbed paper towels and water from the sink and cleaned his belly and paws with my left hand. He just lay there. I wasn't sure I was supposed to just help myself in the exam room, so I was hurrying up and looking over my shoulder to make sure Vettie wouldn't catch me doing something I wasn't supposed to do.
But hey - I'm sure he wouldn't have liked squeezing and examining Bobby's pee-soaked belly, either!

  25. OH Bobby you are so loved! By your meowmy and the WHOLE TDK family! We all would have rubbed you down to clean you!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  26. Poor Bobby....it's so much work to get the nasty vet smell off...sigh! Then there's all the humiliating snickers from Milo about it too. =( "Ewwww..stay away...you smell of the tricky one's place of slow torture"!!!

Posted 2 years ago by Karenopa #

  27. LOL!
And Mi didn't pee in the carrier when he went last month!

I just got home and Bobby is FINE!!!! He looks a bit tired, but he just had dinner and seems to be doing well! I'm going to keep my eyes on him, but it seems everyone's prayers have worked!
    THANK YOU!!!!!

  28. Now Bobby, get some SLEEP tonite and let meowmy sleep!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  29. I'm sure he will! When MI got the same shots last months, he pretty much slept for two days! My dog-sitting starts Sunday, so hopefully I'll sleep well at home tonight and tomorrow and after that, when Bobby's back to his usual self, I'll sleep over at the dog-sitting house!
