Hello Folks! I am back from Austin! My sore face came with me. The post root canal report is...I'm doing ok. I still have some pain and have not been able to eat but Lord knows I am not going to starve to death! I have more than enough of me to sustain me for quite a while. I am keeping hydrated and taking my meds. The wonderful news is that Abbey's 30th birthday party was a huge success. She looked so beautiful and happy. Jason suprised her by arranging for friends to come in from California and Indiana for the celebration. She was in shock and totally happy. There were about 15-20 people at the party. Now for the good part, the menu. I brought brisket, ranch potatos, mac and cheese, lots of fresh fruit, brie, fresh baked bread, watermelon/limeade punch, beer (of course...it's Texas!) and cake. Oh my goodness, the cake. The same baker that made her wedding cakes made them. Abbey picked out key lime cake with lime custard filling/frosted with coconut butter cream! If I am smart enough I will try to post some pictures. My birthday is on June 25 so we had a cake made for me too. Mine was white chocolate, filled with fresh strawberries and frosted with vanilla buttercream. The most amazing thing is that Matty (the cake guy) covered mine with beautiful piping and hand made sugar flowers! Orchids, roses and lilly of the valley. It made me cry. Lilly of the valley is my favorite flower and he remembered. We gave him no instruction on decoration, just the colors and to be creative! We are so lucky to have such creative, wonderful friends! Abbey is still being plagued with pregnancy nausea and tiredness but had a wonderful birthday surrounded by friends and family. I am back home and all is well here. Lots of drama on TDK! I missed so much by being out of touch for 3 days! Hope all of your are weil and happy. Ab did tell me to pass along that Rubia, Polly's Mum and Mad Cat Woman would have been thrown into dessert overload at the cakes! They were sooooo good. I'm home today and hope to "catch up" on all of the threads.

Ahem! Glad you're back Puddytat, sorry your face is still sore. These things can take a while to clear up. A belated Happy Birthday to Abbey, I think I remember seeing a thread, can't remember if I posted on it, the days and weeks are such a blur at the moment!
And...a huge THANK YOU to you!!! You naughty cat, sending such lovely presents, that was a wonderful suprise today! Chris is over the moon with his t-shirt, and enjoyed looking through the postcards. My t-shirt is a nice "beach fit" baggy enough to wear over swimwear without looking lost in it - so thank you very, very much! And the little cooler bag - too cute! I am so looking forward to coming out in September, just hope my stupid neck is better by then, else I'll be carrying so much medication I probably won't be allowed into the country!
