Yeah, the stores in Tupelo seem to be out of bananas as well. Have you been slipping through the wormhole WWM and not telling me? LOL

LOL, that's what the caddy kept saying to my golf balls "hasta la Vista" .....
..... and here's something interesting..... the "national" cusine speciality is a soup they make can San Cochoco..... it's like a stew, with vegetables, meats - chicken, pork and beef, and unfortunately - BANANAS..... I like it til I got one of those on my spoon!.......
My favorite dishes here have been the seafood ones...... their sea bass is wonderful, as is the lobster and fish!......

It sounds like you are having a purrfect time, AV! I bet Abbie wishes she could have tagged along (lol!) When I went to Maui I got to snorkle, its a lot of fun!

Uh-oh.... Midland AND Tupelo are now out of bananas!!! Where should I sneak off to next? Oh, and I mustn't forget that the chef at the resort wants more of my banana recipes!!!!
I'm so happy that I can add so much to AV's vacationing experience! :-)

.... if I see ONO more of those stupido BANANAS, I will barf all over the next buffet (makes note to go back to gym when gets home)!....... nice dinner tonight, had their "local" sea bass... similar, but not as thick as the one we buy in the States from Chile!.......nice, but still a "boney" fish!.... word from home is that Abby is "very upset"... and "nipped" the cat sitter because she was crying all the day for me!...... (I knew this was coming!)..... Cuddles was pi$$ed off because Daughter wasn't there, but was such a "meat whore" that when baby sitter gave her the "daily" dose of meat, she "hissed" a thank you! LOL....... well, tomorrow, we go to town again, and embark on a cable car that will take us up the 2nd largest mountain on the island (4900 feet)...... please check and make sure I check in later ! ........ have some time now, so will try and post on the NS!.... I love you All!

.... looks frantically for a HUGE fan to waif some of this 100+ degree temps to NZ!...... this place makes Fla. look like Iceland!........ seriously, I was so hot playing golf today, I thought I would pass out!.....
.... seriously you guys will laugh when I get back next week and can post pics!.... I look like a drowned rat in ALMOST ALL OF THEM!.... LOL

AV, that is great you and hubbs are having a good trip. Nothing having a good round of golf even if it is 100 degrees out. How is the humidity? Aww poor Abby, missing her meowma. Nice to know she misses you.

Ola this fine Thurs!..... (only 2 more days left :( but will get back to my Abby soon :) ............Today we went into the Cityof Puerto Plata..... We took a cable car up the mountain (2700 ft) and toured the top.... then went to the fort (Similar to that in St. Augistine - built in the 1500s by the Spanish Conquistodors)... then to their "mall" (can't think of the spanish word) and finally a tour of the city itself!....... surprisingly to me, it's 300,000 people, with their major industry the manufacture and exportation of (you guessed it) RUM....... We toured the Rum factory, and of course HAD to buy some to take home.... Bobby wouldn't let me get away unless I did!..... Interestingly enough, when we looked at the map of countries they export to, it included US, most of South Americal, Italy, France, and Russia...... it did not included UK, Africa, China, or Austrailia and NZ!).......
The seafood has been wonderful, I've learned many new flavorings down here.... one thing I HAVE also learned is - do not order the soup!.... it's always BANANA soup!....aarrrgghhh.....
Bobby has been behaving himself, this afternoon, he and Cuddles were doing "shots" of some local concocection in the Cafe.... I'll need to go get them shortly for a "siesta" before dinner...... Ola my friends!

AV, sounds lovely! I only wish I could come there to relax your last few days! Poor Abs, she misses you! Its ok, you will be back with her soon! Now Cuddles on the other hand probably doesn't miss you! Be safe, enjoy the bananas!

LOL Molly!..... "cat sitter" says Abbs greets her every day, crying...... Cuddles is apparently fine, as long as you give her her "meat" first!...... I know Abby is trying to ask where I am!..... she and I talk in "trills", not loud meowing....... that's when she's stressed, or wants something..... "cat sitter" has been very nice, she said she spent about 2 hrs with them yesturday, and gave "each" their "dose" of kitty loving!!!!...... I will DEFINITELY bring her a nice gift when I return!.....

...ok, my time for now is up, so I must go..... there are lots of "gatos" (cats) down here - they are in every restaurant, and all over the resort..... of course Son has to feed them any possible left overs we have, so we are all under "strict" instructions not to let the waiters take our plate until he has confiscated them! LOL....... we are gato's best friend!.....

Oh Poor Abbs! So banana's in the morning, bananas in the evening and Banana's in the afteroon! We loves the banana's wheredeep fried, pan fried or even in a souuuuuuuuuuuuuuuppppppppppppppppp! Hhahaha I love banana's and yet I think in soup thaat it would um be wrong ehhe. So um my advice order the soup jsut spoon of the nana's ahhahaah!

... gags as yet ANOTHER banana dish is offered!!!...
...Cuddles and Bobby got in trouble yesturday, they were doing "shots" in the afternoon cafe, and then I had to pull them off the dance floor later.... yesturday we toured the rum factor and learned about the different grades, the best being aged 6 yrs and the lowest not at all (it was like pure alcohol- yikes!)..... so last night, Hubbs tried to order a rum and coke made with the "six year" stuff..... apparently they don't speak Georgia born Hubbs here because they brought him a glass of coke and SIX shots of rum!!! We laughed so hard!....... needless to say, that started the night out, well let's say interesting~!
... we leave tomorrow :( traveling thru Miami ... will probably take HOURS... and arrive home in Tampa late Sat. night!..... gots lots of great pics and will post them Sunday!..... hope everyone has had a good week, and look forward to posting with you all when i get back!..... most of all, I miss my little ABBY!......
