I am so upset. Last night I came home from work and Truman and Hoover were not there to greet me as they usually are. I went looking and discovered one of my window screens was laying on the grass outside. I immediately went searching and found Truman underneath the shed out back. I had to lay on my stomach to pull him out. Poor thing was scared half to death. I put him in the house and started looking for Hoover. My boyfriend came over and fixed the screen and helped me look. We were out there till after dark and no sign of him. I put a can of food out on the porch, this morning it was half gone, so someone was eating it. (I do have a few feral cats hanging around.) I didn't sleep at all last night and even got up at midnight because I heard something. I am asking for prayers for Hoover, and that God will keep him safe and bring him home where he belongs. I am afraid because he never got over his skittishness and there is no way he would come to another human, since he hardly even comes to me.

Jadete, I'm so sorry to hear this but keep faith that he will come back home to you. Sending the TDK searchlight beaming down on the neighbourhood to bring Hoover back home. Keep calling to him.

Jadete try putting some item of your clothing with your smell on it out there for Hoover, maybe drag it about the yard and to the house. Keep calling him.

When I posted earlier, it was still dark outside. As soon as it got light enough, I went out again. Still no sign of him. Truman sits at the window and meows for his brother. I hope Hoover hears him and comes around. I have to go to work now, but will search again when I get home. Thanks for the prayers to keep him safe. He is strictly an indoor cat, being declawed and neutered.

Jadete...you've gotten lots of good,solid advice above. Be sure & talk alot to him as if he were right there beside you when you go looking. Try & stay as calm & relaxed as possible while calling out to him. Our kits pick up the stress & uneasiness in our voices & that can raise their fear even more.
Sending Prayers & a few spotlight beams of my own that Hoover find himself back home where he belongs. Poor Truman misses his brother. I also hope that Hoover hears his brother calling him & returns home.

Oh Jadette I'm so sorry Truman is out and wandering. Sending prayers that God will indeed keep him safe and bring him back home pronto. Try putting an article of clothing out on the porch as well to keep him moving towards a scent of familiarity. Good luck dear. (((Jadette))) (((Hoover)))

Jadette,I bet he's not far but very scared even too much to respond to you. Can you go out after it's more quiet and a little darker(flashlight will light up his eyes) with his fave treats and call for him quietly. Leave some worn clothes outside in a few hidey places. Maybe print up some fliers but don't give up hope.

If you can't get him to come out for you maybe you an take Truman out (safely) and he will come to him. A friend had this happen and she found the younger cat but he would not come out of hiding and she could not get to him. So she brought the older one out on a leash and harness (he was used to that). The younger one eventually came out to the older and she slowly reeled in the older which brought the younger cat within reach.
