  1. I recall the custodian we had in grade school. He kept to himself but if you said hi to him, he would say hello back. I always tried to be polite to them as they do a tough and sometimes unpleasant job. Here at work, we have two custodians whose job is to keep the kitchens stocked and clean. I always say good morning or hello to them. They are a husband/wife team. The wife is very shy but after my saying hi she now says hi to me instead of just smiling.

MC, hope you feel better. Do you have any update appts with the doctor coming up?

Joan, a black bear..yikes! When I was 13, I went canoeing on the Rogue River (in beautiful South Oregon) on a family trip with other families. One morning my Dad and I thought we would take a walk before breakfast. We were walking on a path along the river and at one point we saw a black bear across the river. I asked that we turn around and go back to our camp. While we walked back, my Dad kept teasing me with the bear is coming after us. I ran when he said that.

We are having our cloudy foggy weather but seem to be having some cloud action on top of the fog. The sun only comes out in the late afternoon for what seems for about an hour before the sun sets. Temps are warming up. Suppose to be 74 degrees today and 79 degrees tomorrow. I like the weather when it is 60-70 degrees. Humidity is at 70% today. Ick!!

Oh and I will have a slice of apfel strudel (german spelling) warmed up please with a side of vanilla ice cream. I made apple strudel when I was 12 but haven't it since. It isn't hard to make but you have to cut up the apples. Oh I am drooling thinking about it. Yummy!!

Found this for some pictures and receipe:

  2. lol about the bear SMM!
SM, currently I have, in addition to a pic of Shaddo and Jiggs and one of Leela, ICHC pics of: RAWR!, Heroes...still make house calls (here's to the firefighters!) and Work? I iz on top of it.
Ok, I'm going to take a lunch break that IS going to be longer than 15 minutes before I go insane (we're very short staffed - piled on top of end-of-year stuff). Heading to Rita's for a Misto Shake. Need a treat today...

Posted 2 years ago by JoanfromNewJersey #

  3. Wow Joan, I just googled misto shake and found this: http://www.ritasicevabeach.com/misto.html

    Sounds very tasty!

Posted 2 years ago by SylMiaFelixMomma #

  4. Sounds good to me Joan!!!

Okay I am going to scream! That kid is really a piece of work and can't seem to keep her lies straight! Now her mom didn't die of cancer but was shot and her Dad is dating afte 3 weeks and she is to call the new woman mom. I think I smell more drama and crap! I am praying that given no attention she will go away.

  5. Doesn't it sound wonderful SMM!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  6. Deep breaths, SM, you know what to do - just ignore her. I do wish that kids with too much time on their hands would take themselves somewhere else, though.

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  7. I know but CF is calling her out on all her stories. A little worried. One would think they don't want to hang out in a site with no one their age.

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  8. KittenMaster you are beyond wonderful!!! Thank you!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  9. There are day camps that have special programs for those who cannot afford to send their kids to camp. Sad that this kid is allowed to be on the computer so much. I choose to not respond to them. Hopefully they will get bored and go away.

Joan, please send the cybermobile so I may join you for that misto shake. I want to try one.

I have a coupon for Boston Market that with the help of Dee (thank you Dee) found on one of the freebie coupon sites - $3.00 off a $6.00 meal so I think I will go buy lunch with it today. Turkey, gravy, green beans in a butter/garlic sauce and corn (not on the cob). I am curious about the beef brisket. That is a new item but have never had beef brisket. Wondering if it will be too salty.

  10. Well I don't know who did the report, but they obviously have more common sense than I do! Thank you also to that TDKer! I couldn't help when I saw that she was taking those things she posted as fact--there is so much information on the web I wanted her to get good information and not drivle!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  11. SMM I want to go to lunch with you!!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  12. Sending cybermobile to come pick up SM for lunch and then we will hop over to meet Joan for a misto shake.

  13. Wild Black Cherry today *passes a bunch of them around the cafe* My throat is a bit sore and this feels so good on it. I will also gargle with salt and aspirin when I get home as per WWM's instructions; I'm obviously fighting something. Our awesome custodians are constantly walking around with disinfectants and hitting doorknobs, light switches, phones, copy & fax machines - anything that gets regularly touched. The flu (and Swine Flu) is hitting this area hard. I don't care that my hands are all dried up from washing them constantly - it's worth it.

  14. Gosh, I missed something again! What the heck is going on?

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  15. Nothing really it is the same kid. Now the mom didn't die of cancer but was shot and killed 3 weeks ago and dad is now dating a woman who is to be called mom. I swear it is like a bad daytime soap line!

  16. That thread must have been removed because I don't see anything that looks like that. I see one of explanation, but the original must be gone.

Speaking of must be gone - I'd better go to the grocery store before it hits 110! Thankfully I have a short list today.

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  17. It was removed WWM--problem is she isn't explaining. With the thread gone some have forgotten that this girl is just telling other stories to cover what she had said before. None of what she is saying makes sense and she changes her stories every 2 second. I realize everyone wants to befriend her, and I am sorry I am so cynical, but she can't even keep what she says straight let alone the sister's stories.

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  18. SM, I am not even posting any response to the person you mention as I don't want to give any attention to this person in addition to the sister. As you said, too many stories given that don't add up. I think the whole family might need help if the mother died (regardless of how) only a short while ago.

  19. Hello one and all.... think I'll pass on the strudel and have some French toast today... covered lightly in powdered sugar... with a side order of bacon. It's closet to lunch than it is to breakfast... but work got in the way.

Had a great work out with the trainer last night. My arms are VERY sore today.... it's all good !

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  20. I guess I am just wishing that others would do the same. It seems that all is now wiped away and she is getting free reign again to start all over. As you said I will take your lead.

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  21. 2P Good for you! I plan on getting in a w/o tonight. I do the cross training
machine for cardio then some weights for toninig...I just need to monitor my
daily eating habits!!!(TDK Cafe is a great treat/0 calories)

Posted 2 years ago by jeankit #

  22. 2P, I did legs with my trainer yesterday. What are you doing for arms?

Oh, I think I know what you're talking about, SM. You know the really sad thing is that a young girl would be here in the first place. I hate to think how lonely she must be. She should be at the pool, or playing with friends. *sigh*

  23. Good afternoon, everyone! Geez, I'm in the mood for a banana for some reason. . . ;)

Posted 2 years ago by FondaHonda #

  24. I'd send you some, FH, but I seem to be all out!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  25. "Yes, we have no bananas, we have no bananas today...
    (and if that wasn't enough)
Yes, we have no bananas, no bananas in Scranton PA"
    - Harry Chapin
*good thing you can't hear my singing*
But I have a bunch, FH - here, catch! :)

  26. WWM - yesterday for upper body was hammer curls, bicep curls, triceps kick backs, and then some upright rows - at various angles - for the back, and I'm not sure how to describe the other exercise by it works the muscles right under the shoulder blades and lats. Then on to abs work.... ouch !

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  27. Oh, we love those ab workouts, don't we? Actually, I have learned a lot from my trainer and even bought a ball to have here at home. The tricep kick backs can be tiring, but they really do great for toning those muscles. I like to use the Freedom trainers for weights, too. Especially legs. I have ankle thingie's that strap onto to ankles, then I hook the Freedom trainer thing on and I do leg abduction and adduction that way. And to think - we pay good money to do this stuff!

  28. Apfelstrudel mit Schlagobers, bitte und ein Glas Weißwein. Dankeschön!

    Posted 2 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  29. Yes ma'am.... love the abs... NOT ! The results yes - the work no! LOL Everything I'm doing is with nothing more than a 8 lb dumbbell or medicine ball. I go to the trainer's home, not the gym. Trainer watches every muscle, every move and stops me any time I'm not in correct alignment or using wrong muscles. She is VERY good. Seeing pretty decent results after 10 sessions... and now she will step it up. I have been warned - she said I will hate her after next week. lol

She not only does the training, but counsels on nutrition... which is very helpful for me. My last hike went very well after following her instructions; the hike before that I was in tears....

Posted 2 years ago by 2 Popoki #

  30. WWM - I can't understand what you are talking about with all your technical gym talk, so I thought I'd hit you with a café order in German! :-)

You asked what 2P is doing for her arms - I'm carrying too many textbooks to and fro lessons and am clenching arm muscles in an effort not to thump those children who have been so silly today and have been hurting/bullying each other. I just want to knock their heads together.
