  1. Hi, Everyone! I'm getting such a late start today. I had to go to a press conference and reception with Mr. WWM to celebrate the 3,000,000 Meals on Wheels delivered here in our little city. It was really a nice reception but it was outside!!!! Thank heavens there was a breeze or I would be toast by now.

May I please have a watermelon snowcone?

  2. SMM have you already left for work?? I have to say I have been praying that this coming weekend you will get some peace. Do you have plans?

WWM we deliver Meals On Wheels too. That is what I was doing when I had th TIA. I am a little leary to deliver on my own now--stupid because it wasn't the delivering of meals that caused it, but you know my brain has the two linked.

    Daughter called!!

  3. Thanks SM, I am actually at work already. I get in around 8am PST. I am to go to another funeral on Saturday (another friend of the family - they seem to all coming in groups now - very strange) and then after that we are going to meet up at my parent's house for an early Father's Day get together. So on Sunday I hope to get some peace and quiet. Thank you for thinking of me. I hope things are better with you also.

  4. Okay a funeral is not the way to begin a restful weekend. I am so sorry for the loss of your family friend--isn't easy on your parents. I hope that the Father's Day gathering though is a bit more fun.

  5. SMM mentioning sharing her ice cream with Mia reminded me of a cute George moment last night; I had a small bowl of peach ice cream while I was on the computer (probably posting on TDK), and when I put the bowl down George came and stuck his face in it. He came up with peach ice cream on his nose!

  8. Hello from Michigan! I'm playing on my son's big screen TV with the computer attached. Have been having a wonderful vacation. Don't have time to catch up on all the news yet, but just wanted to drop by and let everyone know I'm here.

  13. Yippee! Those tornadoes that were in Minnesota this early morning will be here this afternoon. Can't wait for that! I guess me and the girls will nap on the big kitty pillow in the basement!

  14. Tornadoes, MC? I haven't heard of that today.....you just hunker down with the kitts!

  16. It's still pouring buckets here, and I just heard thunder :( Definitely ark-building time.

  17. Okay folks, I need some straight talking advice and moral support here. Do I stay home and fix supper for myself like a good, frugal person or use that gift card to Panera Bread I have to go eat out on this hot, humid, summer day? Frugality and more dirty dishes to wash or throw frugality to the winds and use the gift card. *frugality vs abandon......dirty dishes I wash vs dirty dishes they wash.....*

  18. If you use a gift card and don't have to use your own money, you're still being frugal :)

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  19. Yes, there is that. :-) LOL

Posted 2 years ago by Marnet #

  20. And Panera is AWESOME! I have one of those cards and am considering going there for supper myself. LOVE the Tomato Mozzarella Salad! MY FAVORITE

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  21. I'm considering the Asian Sesame Chicken salad or the seasonal strawberry poppyseed salad with oranges, pineapple, and blueberries and have them add some citrus chicken.

Or I can stay home and make my own salad of red leaf lettuce, carrot, broccoli, strawberries, and oranges homemade light poppyseed/italian dressing.

    Decisions, decisions. LOL

  22. PANERA! PANERA! PANERA! PANERA!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  23. Um, I think MC wants you to go to Panera, Marnet. :)

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  24. Shoot Marnet your salad from home is sounding pretty good from this end!!

Posted 2 years ago by SoxsMom #

  25. Yeah, the more I think about it, the more inclined I am to save the gift card for a day when I really need it. LOL Just feeling lazy I guess. I'll watch the news and then decide. If at first you can't decide, procrastinate, procrastinate, procrastinate again! But thanks for the vote MC. :-)

MC, if I could send the card through the wormhole, I'd have my Tigger bring it right to you! You need it more than I do. *hugs*

  26. Marnet I tried to wiggle through the wormhole to just look at your salad--Deuter is laughing--apparently my hind quarters are larger than wormhole!

  28. Jean that sounds like a great evening!

  29. ROFLOL

Actually it makes a delicious salad. I use fresh strawberries and a fresh orange I wash, peel, section, remove seeds, and cut up into bite sized pieces. I put the strawberries and orange on top of the greens which can include various types of lettuce, carrot, broccoli, and celery. You can even add small amounts of cauliflower but be sure those are cut very small or they overwhelm the fruit. Do not use scallions. Those clash with the fruit but small bits of red onion do okay. I pour the homemade italian dressing on the greens, top with fruit and then sprinkle the fruit with poppyseeds. Add some multigrain crackers on the side and you have a great summer meal that is cool and light.
