PETA wishes Obama hadn't swatted that fly
(26 posts)-
Oh good grief, how silly. We'll have to watch out for ants on the pavement soon.

PETA would really hate us - we like to knock the flies out then put them in the spiders' webs. The spiders loves us (except for the one in the garage that bit me).

Here's what at least one representative of PETA thinks of trap-neuter-return programs:

I always wondered how they viewed carnivorous animals--whose side do they take, preditor or prey? Now I know.
BTW, the overdevelopment that's going on in my area is destroying more native wildlife than cats ever could by destroying its habitat in favor of more "kiddie condos" for college students with rich parents. In the past two months, I've seen 5 or 6 dead armadillos lying beside the road. Before that, I'd never seen an armadillo; I didn't even know they lived in this part of the country. Cats, both feral and owned, are also being killed by displaced predators.

Next thing you know, PETA will expect people to put leashes on roaches and escort them to a 'safe haven.' Geez--no wonder a lot of people think that these people are from another planet.
Really, they do themselves such an injustice when they start publicizing crap like this.

On Fox News this morning @ o'dark thirty, they had a video where it was either Gaza Terror group and/or Al Qaeda groups that are now using horses as the carriers of bombs that are activated by remote control in the Middle East...PETA should go over there and confront those people about the cruelty to killing the horses, rather than worrying about the Pres swatting at a fly during an interview. And then worrying about him not showing 'compassion' to the fly, sigh.

AZ you beat me to it. I just saw a repeat of that report and thought, "FINALLY, a practical use for PETA. Send them out to capture Bin Laden and destroy the terrorist groups around the world!"

Ailuromaniac and Soxsmom, I thought the same thing last night when they kept showing it on the news channel. Actually tried to find the video on their website because I was going the link to PETA and ask what they were doing about that. Couldn't find it on their website but may not have looked in the right places.

I'm for sure not an Obama fan, but this is just plain ridiculous. PETA has come across as idiots.

Give me a break, If a fly was bothering me, I would swat too. President Obama, did what we all would do. Peta needs to get a grip.

Please do not get me started on PETA! Good grief, what idiots! One of my professors children was writing a report for her 2nd grade class on the circus. She went to google to get some info (kids are so smart these days!) and clicked on the first selection. It was a PETA site and the image was horrifying. An image of a mutilated animal. No warning, no disclaimer just this image. She was so upset and had nightmares for weeks. What in the world are they thinking!

This is the fly catcher PETA advises to use: https://www.petacatalog.org/prodinfo.asp?number=HP220

Holy Cow! Yes, I agree with MS..good grief is right. PETA is out of control. I don't have to deal with flies in my place, Mia gets them before they have flown even a minute in my apartment. Will I get in trouble for all the flies Mia has eaten?!
The average lifespan of an adult housefly is approximately 15 to 25 days and they lay around 500 eggs. I don't think you have to worry about them becoming extinct. I think we can focus on more important things like making sure we don't get tainted meat into our food system. Sheesh!!
Why doesn't PETA spend more time going after the animal abusers like that teen who put the kitten in the oven or the teen who is killing multiple cats in Florida (and is out on bail too). Puleeze!!

I just don't understand why PETA is focusing on this ridiculous fly when there are so many animals in the world that need help. Whatever you may think about Obama as our Presidnet, he is clearly an animal lover. He is not your problem, PETA! Go after the bad guys, instead!
