  1. I have been thrilled all day just to hear her voice--how pathetic am I!

The door is open and there is a cool breeze blowing in from down under--to cool off the Texas heat I have heard tell about! The grill is on and chefs at the ready--just ask! The fountains are bubbling away--just grab a glass and fill it up!

Pull up a chair and share your day--just remember this is a PETA free zone and you may swat at any flies that bother you--or leave them to the kittehs for surely they will get them!

  2. Woo hoo, glad that she called you Mom! And I do feel better now that the kittehs are safe from PETA's reach on the chasing of the flies, lol.

Tired and trying to take a nap but its not working so far, the sun is way too bright outside, lol.

  3. I totally understand SM, not pathetic at all. Sounds like she is having a wonderful time.
I'll give the cool breeze a miss but I'll take all the heat you can spare. Had a video chat with airy this morning and it was 28C(82F) in her apartment and I was freezing at -1C(30F). Brrrrr
Thump . . . .got a fly! ha ha ha

  4. I know you must be looking forward to monsoon season. By now it must be horribly dry there! The sun will be going down soon--you know about the time you have to go to w%rk!

  5. Was that a PETA member looking in the window--quick someone set the jaguars loose because they look a little hungry and could use a PETAbutter and jelly sandwich!

  6. Bye all, back on NS later on.

  7. MS did you see the cat scratch lounge website I posted for you??

  8. You are NOT pathetic for being excited about hearing your daughter's voice on the phone calling from Wales, SM! I'm happy for you both. How is hubby doing with her out of the country? Is he missing her too? :)

I hope your daughter is taking lots of photos. Did you send Bob with her?

  9. Yeah, just let PETA try to deny Baby Sally Semi-Meezer her greatest pleasure: stalking flies.

Y'know, we are the first people to live in this gorgeous condo tucked away into a little nook of Austin, secluded and quiet but oh, so accessible to the major roads. Perfect, really except for one thing. The gol-danged flies are EVERYWHERE! No, we were NOT raised in a barn and keep doors and windows tightly shut against the Texas heat but the dam t'ings (as Kehaar would say) just keep finding their way in! It's not unusual to swat 5 or 6 inside my house in a day, if we've been smoking on the grill!

Does anyone have an idea for a lure that I can set up away from my doors (I'm almost on a corner; there's only a garage on one side of me) that won't tick off the HOA but will entice the flies away from wherever they're getting in????

  10. She couldn't take Bob--he is visiting the islands with AV drinking rum! (Actually I didn't think of it.) She is taking a bunch of pictures. I have a thread with her adventures. She is having the time of her life!

GK you could use a fly strip, but they are so gross...how about one of those handy PETA trap and release thingies??

  11. Do those bug zappers work on flies? They make kind of a creepy noise when they fry a bug...might be a downside. lol

  12. Plant Venus fly-traps--the natural way to kill flies!

Posted 2 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  13. Venus fly-trap----PETA approved!!!

I had to go back and look at the picture again--I thought they were bombs....

Bombs--Carrots---same thing--listen I'm old and the eyes are failing me and I'm sticking to that story!

  14. LOL @ SM. It's an easy mistake to make!

Posted 2 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  15. I'm going to call it a night. Sweet dreams, all!

Posted 2 years ago by Kitten Whisperer #

  16. Right behind you I think.

Good Night and Peace to All.

  17. I have seen some people hang bags off water out side off doors and been told that the flies are atracted to the bags instead of tring to get in but don't know how well it works?

  18. Evening all, wow 4 hours since the last posting. Writing is awkward as I have an armful of Shadz in her winter coat. She's heavy.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  19. Awwww Butterball is showing her LOVE for you :)

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  20. Hi Deb,she's purring like crazy and I swear she's smiling. She is also getting heavier by the minute.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  21. hi MS and Deb..
Awww a armful of Shadz...it doesn't get better than that.

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  22. Morning CM,I agree there's nothing quite like the honour of being official 'nest person' for a great heavy lump of purring Butterball. My arm is slowly slipping down with her.

  23. Shadz has abandoned me for the cold great outdoors and the lure of mouse fur on her tongue. Guess I'm up for a bit longer now. I don't like leaving her outside when it's so cold even if she does have a layer of fat that would make a seal blush with pride. Lurking

  24. It's 12.10am, Saturday 20th NZ time, ...the night is very chilly in NZ and cool to warm in USA ..... so time to close Night Shift and snuggle under the comforters, so here goes gratis AZDEBRA, LV , & Tigger from the beginning....good job everyone & bless you...

    check - turns fountains off
check - sweep the floor (never know who has been tossing stuff around)
check - lights off and turns out neon "TDK Night-Shift" and "Poetry Jam" sign in window
check - night lights glowing gently, puts on cool jazz radio for ambiance and stragglers check - cat flaps swings creeeeeeeek (pulls out WD-40), check cat flaps again to ensure they swing quietly and effortlessly
check - doors closed, left just ajar so fuzzbutts don't come to us with complaints
check - dry kibble out as a midnight snack (so hopefully no 5 am breakfast wake-up call) and freshens litter-box. Puts away assorted fuzzy, squeaky cat-toys into Toy-Box

check - windows slightly open for Northern TDKers' spring and closed for Southern TDKers' autumn.

Goodnight to all our imaginary friends in TDK land, Goodnight Airy and Jim-man. White light, healing energy and prayer for all those in need. Be careful out there! Bless all those whom have left before us, please watch over us >^..^<

  25. MS, HRH knows where she is safe and loved :)

  26. ROTFL, Shadz is back inside and she is acting crazy or as we say 'has the wind up her a**e'. She has run up and down stairs noisily, knocked an umbrella over with a crash, dived under the stairs and fossicked around in the cupboard. She is running around with her tail straight up in the air and leaping on and off the furniture. I hope she calms down so I can go to bed, 1am is not a good time to go crazy. She has raced back upstairs again and it's been 3 minutes without thumping or crashing, I guess my side of the bed has had a hostile takeover, oh dear, it's going to be a long night for me hanging onto the edge of the bed.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  27. Lol, so sorry that sounds like my house with the crazzeee's and your description is a true one! Hope that you sleep well and don't have to hold onto the edge of the bed, scritches to the h**l raiser in the morning :)
