  1. All's finally quiet again -- time for SLEEP. Night.

  2. Sherlock is my Basset Hound puppy. He is almost 4 months old--a little on the scared side. We are having the same stuff here in New Mexico with the on again off again. It never last long and we so desperately needed the rain. He is settled again, so I will try this sleep thing again. I have to admit though, he is fun to play with. We had a serious game of tug toy!

Good Night and Peace to All!

  4. It's 1.48 AM, Saturday 20th AZ MST time, ...the night is very, very chilly in NZ and confused in USA (tornadoes, rain, hot, humid, etc.) ..... so time to close Night Shift and snuggle under the comforters, so here goes gratis Moonshadow, LV , & Tigger from the beginning....good job everyone & bless you...

    check - turns fountains off
check - sweep the floor (never know who has been tossing stuff around)
check - lights off and turns out neon "TDK Night-Shift" and "Poetry Jam" sign in window
check - night lights glowing gently, puts on cool jazz radio for ambiance and stragglers check - cat flaps swings creeeeeeeek (pulls out WD-40), check cat flaps again to ensure they swing quietly and effortlessly
check - doors closed, left just ajar so fuzzbutts don't come to us with complaints
check - dry kibble out as a midnight snack (so hopefully no 5 am breakfast wake-up call) and freshens litter-box. Puts away assorted fuzzy, squeaky cat-toys into Toy-Box

check - windows slightly open for Northern TDKers' summer and closed for Southern TDKers' autumn.

Goodnight to all our imaginary friends in TDK land, Goodnight Airy and Jim-man. White light, healing energy and prayer for all those in need. Be careful out there! And may Hoover return home as he should. Bless all those whom have left before us, please watch over us >^..^<

  5. *Pushes open door quietly. Calls softly, so as not to wake the kitties...*

    Hilloooooooooo?

  7. You took your time, MS ;-) Good evening, and how are you tonight? Did the ABs win or lose? Was it cold and yucky where you were too? I have been tidying all day and I am just about tidied out...

  8. *peeks head in...sees MS and jcat..waves wildly*
    Hello my friends!!!!!

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  9. The game has just finished on delayed view, we don't have Sky. The AB's won this game thankfully. We have a very clear night here so another frost in the morning but Wellington had atrocious weather for the game, wind, rain and a nasty wind chill. Glad I wasn't there. Did you see that the sea foreshore froze this morning somewhere up the Kapiti coast.

  10. we have rain here, it's very foggy and humid..should break by the mid afternoon. I hope so, we are having my sister over for her birthday dinner(her birthday was Thursday) and we wanted to grill steaks....stupid weather.

  11. *Waves furiously back*

Hi, CM, how are you? how'd you sleep last night?

I don't have Sky either, MS, otherwise I'd waste all my time watching those addictive house programmes (you know, 'A Place in the Country', 'A Place Abroad', 'A Place in the City', 'An Old Place', 'A Modern Place'... etc etc...)

That's good that the ABs won, that keeps the series alive as they say, doesn't it, and makes the third one more exciting for everyone.

The sea foreshore FROZE? I've never heard of that! I've heard of snow on the beach but ... oh my goodness. It wasn't nice here but it wasn't that bad!

  12. That's not fair, CM, at least we're actually in winter. Humid and rainy is the WORST kind of summer weather, I reckon, it's sticky and uncomfortable and you can't do anything outside (nor can you send the kids out for a break, lol)...

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  13. Sleep was actually wonderful jcat. I got up at 4:15am after going to bed at 10:30 and came downstairs watched a show till 5 then fell back asleep till 7:30...I needed some rest.
I tell you the weather is kooky everywhere.

  14. Was there a morning cafe today, MS or CM? I wanted to read it in the back threads but I couldn't find it :(

Yay, sleep! I reckon it's highly underrated!

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  15. Jcat, you aren't lying. We have been cooped up in the house for 3 days already due to the rain...Maddie is bouncing off the walls and so am I...

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  16. There was but it didn't start out that way...it was a post from Dee saying today is June 19 or Juneteenth...just a bit of trivia and everyone just posted on it.

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  17. Poor little girl, all that energy and I bet she doesn't know what to do with it...

Thanks, CM, I'll go find it and have a read.

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  18. Maddie just got up..so I must say good night to you both...the morning must begin now. Hugs to all. Sleep tight

  20. Morning ladies, MS & jcat, seems like winter is setting in with full force doesn't it! CM, send your rain this way and we will gladly accept it :)

  21. Hi, Deb, yes, I believe the ski fields are rapt! Too bad I never learned how to ski (would have liked to but my parents weren't into skiing and it's become an expensive sport, even here!) We were always more into the beach :)

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  22. There's nothing quite like sliding down a mountain on a realtors sign. That's been the only way I've done it Jcat. Skiing is very expensive sport now.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  23. No kidding, MS? On a realtor's sign? You're braver than I am, MS, that sounds about as bad as sliding down a mountain on a tin tray!

Yes, well, I suspect even back then the expense would have put my parents off quite a bit.

Well, I have a few chores to finish off before I can go to bed so sweet dreams MS and Deb, when you guys get to bed. Keep warm, MS, and give Shadz some headbutts from me -- same goes for the Crew, Deb.

Everyone else getting up around now, have a lovely lazy day!

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  24. Heading off to bed and a hot water bottle now. Jcat, time for you to rest after all your tidying.
CM, have a great evening with your sister. Deb, I hope w**k is q***t tonight and that the AC is behaving and not too cold.
    Goodnight all

  25. Hello to my Kiwi friends! The girls and me slept in today as those horrendous storms kept us up late. Nothing like trying to sleep when there is no power. I am lying there waiting and waiting for all the appliances to come back on and try to remember which light I was reading by to click back on. When it did all the basement light came on and the girls looked like they had seen a ghost! :P

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  26. Good morning MC, I'm glad you and the girls got some sleep after yesterdays wild weather. I hate not being able to remember what I had on when the power goes off.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  27. It amazes me how "loud" everything is when it all comes back on!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  28. Sorry, keep getting stopped in midstream by w**k, go figure morning MC!

Posted 2 years ago by AZDEBRA 5/27 & crew #

  29. W**K! How dare they!?!?!?!?! Don't they know you are busy here?!?

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  30. Good afternoon one and all.
Talking powercuts, we had one at school on Thursday. Lots of us went in early to finish our end of year reports (all on computer now of course) but no power at all. A pylon had failed the previous evening. No light, no computers, no kettles for coffee. Came back on at 8.00 am, just in time for school to open BOO!
