Good Morning everyone. Crazy day already. Girls got up at 6:45 and the fun started early...went outside for a bit and Maddie and I played in her sandbox for a bit. Had to come inside to feed Abbie and now Maddie has a snack and we shall have lunch soon...then hopefully they will both take a nice long nap so Mommy can.

Mike & I had a really good weekend; we got a lot of errands done, but we also went to dinner and a play on Saturday night, so it wasn't all chores. His younger daughter came over yesterday and he talked to the other one on the phone, so he had a good Father's Day. Now we're trying to figure out what to do with my week off next week; believe it or not we might do a cruise. There are cruise ships that leave from Manhattan and go to Bermuda and the Bahamas, and if we book last minute we can actually save money.

School's out, and summer programs are running. Typical first day transportation issues, but not nearly like in September, when Evil Joan takes over to protect Nice Joan!
I've got a super busy week ahead of me so I might not be on much, but hoping to at least say HI to my wonderful TDK family.
I had a quiet weekend; house cleaning, a bit of napping and reading, and still going thru stuff. There are "staging areas" with piles of stuff to go thru, and go out, either to donate, possibly sell, or give to people so the place is still a mess. It's kind of nice that we don't have cable upstairs yet; it's nice and quiet - we call it the hotel room/cats room because Leela loves that room that's outside the bedroom and there are cat toys everywhere! Hubby slapped a coat of paint on an old bookcase that came with the house and was up in the attic for 20 years and I've already got it filled with books. We're trying to make do with what we have; no need to have new everything. Still have things to hang, but we want to make sure before we go putting holes in the new walls!

I got a cool award at an SCA event this past Saturday. I was made a Court Baroness :-) so I now can wear a coronet, and my new title is (cue Mr. Burns/Simpson's voice) "Your Excellency" :-)
Weather was wonderful. Low 70's, sunny and breezy. Yowzah, what a delightful way to welcome in Summer.

I'll be honest, Bermuda or the Bahamas isn't at the top of my list of places to go, but I'm liking the idea of being able to walk to the pier and get on the ship; for some reason I don't feel like dealing with airports this time around. This would make the getting-to and getting-from part really easy.

I love the Bahamas, I've been to Freeport, Nassau, and many other places.... the weather and beaches are beautiful!...... Never been to Bermuda, but I hear that's beautiful too!.... my best advise - take a hand fan, and always have it with you.... seriously, it's so hot, and the "island" air conditioners are no way as efficient or cool as in the states..... my little hand fan was always kept in my purse, and I pulled it out everywhere - in the taxi, on the beaches, just sitting on the lanai - I swear 100 people asked me where I got it!... I could have sold 500 of them easily!......

Our family reunion in 2003 was a cruise to Bermuda (parents gave us lots of notice to save up!) and hubby took me on a 4 day cruise to the Bahamas for our 10 year anniversary in 1999. I would go back to either in a heartbeat! Sooo, looks like we're due! I like the idea of taking the ship right from the port in NY/NJ instead of flying to FL. We don't have much extra $$ these days, but our 20th is coming up in August...

It is gloriously hot! I will NOT complain because I hate winter sooooo much that even sweltering is better than cold and snow to me!! Summer is MY kind of weather!!!

Good morning, peeps. I'm back from a week in Tennessee doing makeup events. While I was gone, my modem broke, along with my router, downstairs AC, and Littermaid Plus that I had been so happy to find for $10 at a yard sale last week. Thankfully my upstairs AC works and I have fans blowing downstairs. I am praying that I don't need a new compressor. It seems the harder I work, the behinder I get.

CW, hang in there! What a difficult weekend! WOW! You need a group TDK hug! (((TDK --->CW))) I know how you feel, went in my basement this morning and it was filled with about three inches of water. I lost all the food in my fridge/freezer this weekend! What next?!?!?!

CW, busy week and then to get home to issues. Sending you a big hug. MC, do you own or rent? If you own, can you put in a claim with your insurance? Possibly same if you have renter's insurance? That sucks because all the frozen goodies are now gone. Darn double darn.
I called in sick from work this morning. I woke up twice during the night feeling really chilled like I was battling a fever and had a hard time sleeping the rest of the night. I called in sick because I just felt drained. All I ate yesterday was peanut butter sandwiches for lunch and for dinner it was a lean cuisine and some green salad with olive oil balsamic vinaigrette dressing and two small (they call them half size) haagen daz coffee chocolate covered ice cream bars. Guess the ice cream did something to me. Kitties are happy to have me home. They were snuggling all night long which was nice.
It is a balmy 77 degrees here with no breeze and humidity at 46%. I am running the dishwasher now and plan to go take a shower in a bit. Later on, I need to run to the store for some toilet paper and other items.

MC, I have practically tripped over her all day!.... last night, she "insisted" on being a lap cat the entire night I was watching TV, and then kept jumping up on the bed to "check" on me about 25 times last night..... she just snifs my head to make sure I'm there, then jumps back down and gets in her own bed.... thirty minutes later... another bed check!.... luckily, it really doesn't bother me, I'm in a half-sleep daze most of the time, so I just go back to sleep..... doesn't even wake Hubbs! LOL

The weekend was lazy (after Saturday morning), but darling daughter came home, so it was good. She is only staying till Friday and then she's off to N. Ireland again.
