  2. My prayers are added as well! This looks like a very large mess! Second train crash in the past 4 days with horrible consequences. Wonder what is up with the train system? It certainly couldn't be the weather in DC.

  3. I think it has to do with the decline of the infrastructure in our country. Train tracks are not in the best of shape and I wonder how often they get funding for repair and upgrade. I pray for those people, how sad!

  4. This story has bumped all other programming off the local channels here in the DC Area. Last passenger fatality on the Metro system was in 1982, they are currently reporting 4 dead in this accident and over 50 walking wounded sent to local hospitals.

  5. I'm originally from that area--born in DC and grew up in Maryland--really don't remember the '82 crash as I was living in GA. at the time. Just moved from VA 2 years ago and don't remember any major issues about the lines for the Metro System. This is so horrible to happen anywhere, but so close to where I consider home. My heart goes out to all those families.

  6. This brings back sad memories of the tragic train incident here in CA less than a yr ago. My son lost his English teacher among the 25 souls lost.
    My prayers to all affected.

  7. TL I remember when you told us about that. It has to be devistating for kids. It just shakes them up because they never expect a teacher to die.
