  1. The garage is not used for cars...I chose it because it is cool and calm. We have 3 kids and another cat so I was trying to give her privacy. I am supposed to keep the other cat away...right? How long should they be isolated? I went out this morning and mom is nursing 5 squirmy babies. She seems to be fine, but will she get up and move on her own to drink and use the bathroom. I have so many questions on where to go from here so any advise would be helpful. Like when will the kittens want or need to get out of the shallow rubbermaid (sort of like those under the bed storage things)bed we made. Mom can get out easily. AHHHH so nerve racking it is like having kids all over again, but this time I am clueless!

You will probably get tons of advice--my best advice is to enjoy them!!

  3. Sounds like serious fun...good advice SMom. From my experience w/Dot & Kits yes, mom will take care of herself and keep good watch on kits. When the kits are able to climb out of the "bed" they will do so. That will be the start of more fun! Enjoy them through these stages while you can!

  5. Definitely, enjoy them through these stages as KOTEK said. They grow up way to fast!

  6. Yes, keep your other cat away--the mom will be very protective and a fight will result for sure! Mom will take care of everything and will drink & eat and use the litter box when needed. She will be glad to get up and stretch. When the kittens are big enough to climb out they will do it on their own, and mama will get upset at first, but she will adjust. Have fun with them, they are small for such a short time. You will spend hours watching them play.

  7. Thanks for the advise. I have found wonderful homes for them when they turn 12 weeks. We plan on keeping one, but I get upset thinking about letting any of them go! They all seem to be doing well now. I was worried about one, she was smaller than the others and had a hard time getting on a nipple to nurse. There are 2 that are quite the rough ones and they make sure they are nursing! Any more advise will be appreciated.
I am trying to post my pictures, but have not figured it out yet.
    Thanks
    Stephanie
