  1. Hi all - how's everyone today?
I want to hear about Tina's date, too!!!! Don't know what's happening with mine - or if it even IS a date. Hmmmmm....the guy will probably be here working out tonight - maybe I'll find out?

Had a busy day. Played tennis in a neighboring town and lost a long match (almost 2 1/2 hours). Great tennis, though! Then went to lunch with two of the girls from my team and then straight to a new dog-sitting client to meet her 3 dogs, two cats, parrot and goldfish (well, I didn't actually meet the goldfish and one of the cats were hiding). Ran home to shower and then to work.

  2. LOL @ GD! Sorry you didn't get to "meet" the fish! Do you charge extra for goldfish? Sounds like your day has been busy but good. Keeping all paws crossed for an offical "date" request from Gym Guy!

  3. Hi GD! Oof! to playing tennis that long - how was the weather? Looks like Mike's going to be rained out again tomorrow - it's been pouring buckets here off and on all day.

    Good luck with Gym Guy!

  4. It was actually pretty nice today after big storms yesterday. In the mid 80s with a nice breeze every now and then. It hit 100 on Monday, so this was much better! ANyway, it's hot on the courts, but the clay courts are less hot. Also, I play doubles so that's not as bad as having to cover the whole court yourself.

I don't charge extra for fish of any kind - BUT...I also don't guarantee they will survive me taking care of them. I'm NOT good with fish!
Thanks for the crossed fingers and good luck wishes with Gym Guy. He's certainly had plenty of chances to ask me out before and never has, so I really don't know if this is a date or not!

  5. I'm heading home, hoping the on and off downpours hold off until I get there. In case I don't make it back on later, have a good night, all.

  6. Bye Kilroy, scritches to Georgie!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  7. You, too, Kilroy! And tell Hubby to skip tennis and watch Wimbledon instead - some really good tennis to see!

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  8. Wimbledon is ALWAYS GOOD TENNIS! GD, do you know how many miles 5 kilometers is?

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  9. It' a bit over 3 miles, MC. Why?
Okay GG, his brother, their dad and the friend are all here. He didn't mention drinks yet - keep your fingers crossed for me, okay?

  11. Mention it to him!!

    fingers crossed--arms crossed--legs crossed--holding breath--turning blue--feel like a pretzel--cramping a bit--turning blue?.....

  12. Breathe, SM, Breathe! Unclench! There doesn't that feel better? Have some tea.

    Posted 2 years ago by KYKAT 12 23 #

  13. Oh no, SM!!! Maybe you can uncross for a bit. He came in around 6:30 and usually stays 2 hrs. I'll talk to him before he leaves, so you can start crossing verything in a bit over an hour. :)

    And I can't mention it to him - I'm shy! :(

  14. Use cat mind tricks and stare the thoughts into his head! Works for my Emma, every time!

  15. Sorry GD, my computer locked up. I am looking at doing a 5K walk and was wondering how long it was. I am still very weak from surgery so just was curious. Me and girls will start crossing soon! There is an update on Cheri, please see the other thread!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  16. Ooooh, I'll start staring at him, KYKat :)

I did a 5k walk about 6 months ago or so. The funny part was my friend who signed us up had told me it was a 5 mile walk and we were surprised when all of a sudden it was over. 5k is not quite the same as 5 miles :)

  17. 2 HOURS NO BREATHING!!!! He better ask you out or I will have to come down there and well I would say kick his butt, unfortunately he works out--what am I thinking I got a whack bonk stick and ninja skills from Emma!!

Listen Guy don't make me come down there!!!!

  18. LOL SM!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  19. MC I am overweight and due to the arthritis in the knees have a hard time on land--there is a reason Shamu likes the water!--but I have done several 5k walks. You can do it! Before you do make sure to go out and start increasing walking every day!

    Sorry I meant 5K or 3mile.

  20. SM, thanks for the vote of confidence, I sure am deconditioned. I was just reading my book on my condition (Chiari Malformation). One girl in there was on the Olympic team and had the surgery. In tip top shape and she even said she didn't feel like she could get thru her day reasonably well for at least 6 months. That's why I wanted to make sure it wasn't TOO long!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  21. Uh oh - SM's got her whack-bonk stick ready - and ninja skills! Maybe it would be a good idea for you to come kick some butt - or some sense into the guy. If he doesn't say anything tonight, you'd better look into booking a flight!

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  22. I agree with SM - you can do it MC!!!!
Actually when I did mine, some of the participants were in wheel chairs, some on bikes - anything to participate in the walk and raise money.

  23. Thanks guys, I appreciate your support. I used to be quite the tennis player myself, softball too! Now it is all I can do to sit at my computer for four hours at work without passing out. Life is way more exhausting then we give it credit for!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  24. Hey - sitting for hours at the computer (TDK) is VERY important! :)

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  25. But I can do that at home on my bed with my girls! Come on GYM GUY! You got lots of whack bonk sticks getting in position if you don't ask GD out and SOON!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  26. You have to start moving--do it slow. Walk down the street. Then work up to a little longer. Remember if you do not move you will lose muscle mass. Take your time and work up to a 5k. And yes I am all too familiar with life being exhausting. The important part is to live it. Do what you can when you can. You didn't start out with 4 hours on a computer--work on that part and then you can take the next step. There is no rush and you have a world of support and many cheerleaders.

  27. Cheri just posted on new thread.

  29. The surgeon said to slowly, very slowly, increase my activity level. He knows I go at things full throttle so I need to begin increasing my physical activity. I need your guys support, it might take a while for me to get close to what I was before.

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  30. {{{MC}}} I know it's hard to find a balance between needing to move to get stronger and not doing too much, but you will figure it out. Listen to your body and don't be shy about speaking up if something is too much.
