I recently moved into a new home leaving behind my roommates cat and dog...Akasha seems so depressed. She meows so much more doesnt want to play refuses to cuddle with me like she used to. Also since the move I have given her half a can of wet food as a treat and now she refuses to eat her dry food and meows and paws at the cabinet her wet food is in. Help! What do I do with poor Akasha?

Oh, poor Akasha! It's the change in environment and missing her buddies, I suspect. I really don't have a lot of experience with this, but I know that others will be able to give you some sound advice.
Maybe Akasha needs a friend?

A friend might help! Cats seem to do well in groups. Time is the only other thing--time and lots of love!! I wish I could be more help. My cats don't really like wet food. Teaser will only eat Iams wet food--Deuter only likes wet dog food and he can't have that--not good for him! Well you are going through what I went through when Deuter taste tested Lissy's wet dog food. Eventually he will eat--you have to stay strong or switch him to wet!

Awww, he misses his friends----give him time, he will adjust. If he is alone a lot perhaps you could get him a buddy????? Shelters are overwhelmed with kittens right now.

Akasha does miss her animal buddies. If you are home most of the day and can play with her when she gets down, that will help.
So far as convincing her that she should eat her dry food, try mixing a little wet food into the dry.

AM, I have moved my kitties three times since 1997; and, one of the moves was from CA to TX, travelling by car and spending two nights in 'cat friendly' hotels. The change was not easy for them at first, but, they adjusted very well after each move.
Akasha is just upset about the 'new digs' right now. Cats really live in a different world than we do because their senses of smell and sight are much more sensitive than ours. She's just trying to adjust to her new enviornment, particularly the new smells; make her feel very secure with extra love and attention for as long as she needs it, and she will come around soon. -
Is she left alone while everyone is at work? If so try a pet video for cats and/or any of the new electronic toys that will move randomly like a cypurr mouse. Remember how boring it was when school was out and you were home alone at 10 or 12. Akasha is having the same home alone blues.
