  4. We're planning the meet for Sunday 6th September - need a good eating/chatting/lolling about type place for the meet itself, although maybe the dinner cruise meets those criteria? Don't want to up the cost beyond the means of some though, so manybe simple land based venue for the actual meet, and anything else added on is a bonus! My Chicago accomodation is sorted, but that's an excellent deal Kykat, thanks for posting! :o)

  5. How about food? What does everyone want? Is there any type of food that people don't eat? I don't do seafood-ICK! Slimy! MCW, where will you be staying?!?

  6. MCW, how about the Navy Pier in Chicago? That is such a cool place, they have a HUGE ferris wheel with a great view of the lake and Chicago. It would be a great place to congregate. I've only been to Chicago once but I LOVED it. Several years ago I met my sister and her two daughters there for a 5 day visit. We stayed downtown across from the House of Blues, you can walk or ride public transportation EVERYWHERE. You will have a great time.

  7. I can do this trip cheaper than Cleveland--or maybe do both--as soon as we know where, let me know! Amtrak from near my home is only 71.00 round trip, business class!

  8. Shelley come to Chicago!!!!!! I am good with wherever or whatever. Of course I am going to have a Chicago Pizza while I am there. I had hoped to see Wicked, but it has closed it's Chicago run. It is Labor Day weekend. MC know of anything cool going on that weekend? We are coming in on Saturday and going home on Monday so we are under no time crunch on Sunday.

  9. Well Navy Pier is always a treat. I am not sure but usually on the Labor Day weekend they have fireworks at the lake and you can just relax on the Lake Front and have a drink. I will see what they have going.

  18. MC, is Giordano's big enough? I have never been there, only Geno's East. I am looking forward to trying a new (for me) place. Hubby will be in tow and hopefully I can get Pooh and Spangle to come along as well.

  19. Jazz Festival is also FREE! Does the Cheescake Factory do a Sunday brunch? I'm trying to think what restaurants are out on Navy Pier. Chicago is one of those cities where there is almost too much to do.

  20. Hee, Ginos East. I can remember a few times eating lunch with total strangers there because we didn't want to wait in the "2 person table" line.

  21. Thanks everyone!! I'll keep you all posted!! and please...if there are any questions about Chicago that I can answer....let me know and i'll find out :) Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!! Mine will consist of sleeping and eating saltine crackers!!! YUM.....

  22. TTM, my sister (Mother of 4) used to make jello and drink it as a warm beverage and swore it kept the morning sickness away. The sugar stabilized her and the gelatin soothed her poor stomach.

I hope you and many others will make it to the meet. I can't wait to see MCW, MC, hopefully Shelley and you! Anyone else out there coming?
