   And Mi just let him? Just brushing Sophie's former housemate's whiskers gets one a growl, but then Pip has always been particular about her person.

   Oh no...poor Mi indeed! Bad Bobby! Interesting that you mention this because I noticed that Mia has lost most of her eyebrown whiskers over her left eye. Her eye seems to be okay as far as I can tell.

   GA, it starts off with Bobby licking Mi's face and he likes that. He always ends up chewing n his whiskers, though. It doesn't seem to hurt Mi or anything but sometimes he'll turn his head away a bit hoping Bobby will keep licking his face instead of eating his whiskers.
   You can tell they were chewed off, because there's just a little bit of short whisker left sticking out. Looks pretty ridiculous, actually (but don't tell Mi I said that).

   Do they need those whiskers for anything?

   And all this time I thought Bobby was the mellow one. Bad Bobby indeed SMM.

   They use their whiskers to 'feel things out', sort of like the curb-finders of the 70s.

   Hehe - is he going to be bumping into things now then, HM?
   And Bobby is still mellow - he just has a fondness for whiskers :)

   By the way - he's been woking on the whiskers for quite some time, but this is the first time I've noticed they're all gone over one eye.

   Yes, whiskers tell them where things are, how wide or how high a space is available and if they can fit in or through it. The wider the cat, the wider the whiskers. And they even have them on the backs of their front feet for help in finding prey in dark spaces. I've always been told that cutting or pulling (or chewing) a cat's whiskers is painful.

    Whiskers give them their sense of balance and their place in space. Not sure if Mi does it but if he tries to jump up onto something he might miss because he can't figure out the distance and where he is in relation to it! Bob, please leave your brudder's whiska's alone, he needs them! Mi, hang in their buddy, you will get those whiskers back! (((Mi))) (((Bob)))

    Awwww now I feel worse for Mi! The good news is that he still has them on one side :)
    Guess I'll have to try and keep Bob away from those whiskers. Bitter apple spray? ;-)

    Whisker and eyebrow chewing happens with kittens quite often. Are the boys regressing to their babyhood? Poor Milo, he does look a little lopsided.

    What is with this cat silliness??!! Mi needs those whiskers to decide if he can fit through small spaces, among other things. I would put bitter apple flavor on the new growth. My goodness!!!
