Wow! What a crazy day it has been here in the USA! We lost both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson! Two entertainers we all remember (or should!). Tonite the grill is fired up, the a/c is on full blast, and kittehs are looking for love. We have the fountains flowing with drinks for all. Tonite we have Michael Jackson songs on the juke box and Charlie's Angels Disc's playing in the DVD player. Come on in and join us! Unwind after a long day!

No shifters?
I'm heading home in 10 minutes. Old Boss is coming over with some mail for me around 9:30-9:45. XBF talked about stopping by with some mail, too. He was going to stop by the gym but ran too late. I may just tell him to wait.
He called me earlier and asked me if I could come meet his partners tomorrow. They need an appointment setter type-person. I'll go meet them and see what happens. Still not sure I want to work for XBF but if I'm going to lose my job at the gym, I need another one...

Hi ladies! How are you holding up in this heat? Although GD is used to the warm Florida weather, MC and I have to bear the heat only during the summer months, right?
You know, they say that death comes in threes, so we can add Ed McMahon and we have our three, sad though it is.

Hi there, I am glued to the TV watching the stuff on MJ. My head is killing me and heard nothing from my insurance. No surprise there! I hate when it gets super hot but I hate two feet of snow more!

I've been following Gallo's progress, and I'm very proud of you OP!..... you're doing great, and Gallo is quite the "little man" now!.....
Abby is my sweet velcroe cat, and my "soul" mate as far as kitties.... if she were bonded any closer, she'd be a "lump" on my body!... LOL
-
I feel the same way.... he is like a human baby reaching out for me when someone is holding him when I leave... he and I are very bonded.. he has really helped me greive my Boxer Greta .... and before I had Greta I had a very large black cat named Licorice....I had him for 14 years and I got him after my dad died... I think that Greta and Licorice sent him to me...

I am very tired tonight. I went and saw three different apartments and each one has something I like and don't like. Apt #1 with the lowest rent amount of $1250/mo, has this great view off of the small balcony, in a small complex of only 12 units and has a nice quasi-property manager (does it to help out but was not technically a property manager from what I could tell). The problem is the kitchen area is small and so I would more than likely have to store my Grandmother's dining set. Apt #2 rents for $1350/mo, has lots of closet space, recessed lighting on dimmer switches and the kitchen has really nice appliances for an apt with a no burner exposed type oven along with a maytag dishwasher and built in microwave. It has a decent balcony too. The downside is that it is a second floor unit in a three story building (but the landlord/owner claims that it is well insulated) and that it faces the hillside and the overflow parking area. Apt #3 rents for $1250/mo, has a large floor plan with lots of closets, a very dedicated property manager (been there 20 years) who also said they would hold the unit with the security deposit but the downside is the kitchen cabinets are very small (do not hold as much as I currently have) and they do not allow the cats to go outside at all even though the unit has a patio due to the fact that there are coyotes in the hillside nearby. Was assured the coyotes do not come on to the property of which I assume they don't because the cats are all in doors and the hills are full of game. So if I could take a little of each one and put into the unit I want then I would be completely happy. I have till next weekend to decide as I need to give 30 day notice on July 1st if I want to move. I am also trying to figure out if I can afford to move.
What I find very strange is that when I got home to my current place, there was a notice from the property manager at my complex stating that they were now changing the policy so that to maintain my current rent amount, I had to sign a new one year lease or for $50 more a month sign a six month lease but if I want to stay month to month, I had to pay $75 more a month! I couldn't believe they were doing this in this poor economy and a soft rental market! This is one more reason to move out of my current place.

Sounds like #3 might be a winner, SMM. That is strange about the note on your door. Do you have a current lease? If so, when does it expire? Maybe it's the final straw for you to move? Geez, I can't believe they're raising your rent, either.

Hi, FH, SMM, OH, Vicki, MerD and AV.
I haven't been posting much between busy days at work and all the sewing I have to do to get my hula costumes together. I'll be glad when that's done and I can focus on polishing the dances! lol

SMM, out of the three I would also pick # 3, your kitties would adjust to not being able to go outside.

Of the three apts you described, SMM, I agree with FH--I vote for #3! It's that or keep looking I guess. I had the same frustration when hunting for a house years ago. Liked the kitchen in one, the bedrooms in another, the living room in a third and on and on. It does really help clarify what is most important to you in a residence. For you, that seems to be peace and quiet with neighbors who don't stomp overhead or blow smoke into your unit. I hope you find that perfect place soon!
