  1. Hi guys! Back online at last! I missed you *terribly* and have needed your support so much. I think Emma may have told you that everything that could go wrong did go wrong.

But I knew you were there even if I couldn't talk to you. Finding the box with my computer peripherals was literally finding a needle in a haystack. It was like the movers intentionally hid it from me. They weren't even supposed to take it to start with! It was to be hand carried in my car!

Anyway, it's over, I love my new place...or I will love it when you can see the carpet. CJ thinks the stairs were built to be her personal playground. It's a scream to see her fat behind go racing down and back up at the speed of light. She NEEDED that staircase. Misty watches her and looks at me like, "Mom, she's such an embarrassment. Can't you give her a pill?"

Hi, Lisa! We missed you! And I must have missed the stories of your misadventures in moving. Having moved 18 times since we got married, we are pro's at it! I always feel like once the kitchen and bedroom are done, it's all downhill from there. But it is a pain to move! (although it's the only way that I know to clean out my closet) I've told Mr. WWM that my next move is the cemetery and at least there, I don't have to pack our stuff!

    Welcome home!

  3. .... wonders if I sent WWM and LL a plane ticket if they would come help me pack??.... I've got to move AGAIN very soon - so far in the past 3 mos. I've moved Son from his apt. to the fraternity house (nightmare)... then MIL from her house to the assisted living place (she's organized, not so bad)... then Daughter to college (who knew one child could have so many clothes?)... now, Hubbs and I will move into MIL's house to "stage" it until it sells, and hopefully sell our commercial office..... I'm exhausted just thinking about it!

  4. Hmmm - for a martini and a lobster dinner I could probably be bought.

  5. Oh that image of Misty and CJ has me giggling! Will be nice to be settled. (Now if I could only convince myself to empty those boxes still left from the last time I moved.)

  8. WWM, you're not only invited, you're fed and watered at the overpriced steak and seafood joint of your choice! Trulucks? Sullivans? Ruth Chris? My mom is buying!! She will do absolutely anything to get me to stop calling her!!!

Posted 2 years ago by lisaeylau #

  9. LOL, Lisa! I have never been to Ruth Chris! But I like Trulucks!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  13. Lisa! So glad you are moved and at least somewhat unpacked. Yes,please take pix of the wild one running up and down the stairs! I love the thought of Misty saying that because I am certain that is EXACTLY how a cat thinks! Keep us in the loop about how you are doing with the unpacking!

  14. Yes, I am still planning on the September meetup! I am arriving Sep 9 and departing Saturday, Sep 12. Oh, how I wish I could stay longer -- I am so looking forward to meeting all of you!

  16. I WILL take pic of of CJ on the stairs. She's developed a cold since we first moved in and is a little under the weather, but is much better today. She likes for me to stand at the top of the staircase--which has a landing and a 45 degree turn--and throw Greenies all the way to the bottom. Then she runs after them...um...bottom over teakettle...and runs back up all in about three seconds. She eats her treat at the top and waits with saucer eyes for me to throw the next one. With her round Manx rump practically getting in front as she goes down.....well, maybe video would be better. I wish everyone could see it. Misty literally rolls her eyes. She wouldn't be caught dead running after a tidbit.

  19. Lisa, my Mum said she would never move again and that was in 1948, she is still in the same place they moved to then. Brought up 4 kids there and saw them out and off to various parts of the world/country( and sometimes back to the house). Anyone beat that?

  20. I hope to move only once more-back to the east coast. You are right, WWM, that is the only way I will go through all my stuff!

  21. Happy Dance!!!!! Emma is coming to Texas!!!!!!!!

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  22. Moonshadown...your mom wins the gold! I think 1948 takes the cake. I thought my mom was well planted at 1960, but your mom wins by miles and miles.

Yes, WWM, Emma is coming to Texas! But remember she got that rapier wit and tongue growing up in Louisiana. Don't expect to meet a Yankee in September!

  23. MS, nope your mum wins, mine has live in the same place since the early 60's so kinda close but no cookies.

Lisa, lol so CJ has found her exercise routine, wonder if I found a place with stairs if it would work for me and these chubby kitties. But I think that only 2-3 of them would be CJ's twins and the others would be the rolling eyes type of kitties.

  24. Cats love stairs, Shadz adores running noisily up and down the stairs. She really makes so much noise you would think there was a herd of horses in the house. We have her toy mouse 'Scrag' sitting on the banister mount half way up(or down) and she loves to whack it off and chase it as it rolls down the stairs. we then have to toss the mouse back up the stairs for her to chase again. The game is called "Scrag the mouse".

  25. lol, love the visuals of kitties racing up and down the stairs!

  26. I am so glad you found a space of your own...Glad that CJ likes the stairs. Best of luck in ur new place!

  27. Hi Lisa, yes moving is a pain!! I'm glad you are in and have found your pc. My cats love my new place and that fact that they have access to humans 24/7. No stairs here but, we have kitty races in the morning and early evening.

  28. Yea Lisa, so glad you are back. You will be settled in before you know it!

  29. I can beat 1948. My Grandparents bought a house in 1925, my Dad was brought up there, my Mum moved in when they got married. My sister and I sold the house 18 months ago.
