Steaks were puuuuurrrrrrffffeeeecccttt....!!!!.... perfectly pink and yummy!... I of course, had to make a "pan" gravey to go over them ,and then baked taters and salad!... how simple can that be!...
......Go GG!..... GD, you MUST ask him what he's doing for the 4th!......

... GD, I don't know how it is on the "other" coast (Pacific vs Gulf)... but we do MAJOR fireworks on the beach every 4th!.....
..... invite him to drive to the beach, spread a nice blanket out, put out a "killer" picnic, a bottle of your fav wine, and well........
... I'm sure between me, WWM, JinxFairy and others, we can get a "great" menu together!......

Speaking of men, my second bestest friend in the world is a guy I have know for about 15 years. We both were down south and then his parents divorced. His mom moved up this way and he followed. He was on the Chicago Fire Dept and I was so proud of him. He is the guy that every girl wants as a friend. We have gone thru many relationships (not with each other) and were there to talk about it with each other. We are (were?) very close.We would always have so much fun together, heck the girls like him! He was the kind of guy who I go six months without talking to and then we would pick up the phone and it was as if no time had passed. After 9/11 he lost some cousins who were on the NYFD and all he wanted was to join the NYFD. He worked and worked and worked so hard. It took a few tries but they finally called him up in 2007. His sis always thought we would be perfect for each other but we never wanted to ruin our friendship. Unfortunately the last two months it turned into more than just friends. When he left I teased him and said "you'll be back". He said "no, too much politics in the CFD. NYFD is the end of the line for me" I knew that was it for us, I would never go to NYC (too expensive for me). I was really, really sad. I last heard from him at Christmas when his dad died. I joined Facebook and found out he is back here but he never told me. He won't add me as a friend and I was shocked he never called when I had brain surgery. I think he is embarrassed and ashamed that I would find out. Now, do I confront him? I am afraid I might chase him off forever because he is no longer in NYC. My stomach has been in knots all day. I wasn't gonna bring it up here but I need advice! HELP!

WOW, MC, that's strange. I think you're right he may be ashamed or embarassed to be back in Chicago - maybe because things didn't work out as he'd planned in NY. Something must be going on if he was that good a friend that he din't even contact you after your surgery.

Evening everyone, see that lots has been going on, now I have to catch up with reading the back threads.
MC, hmmm its a toss-up about your second bestest friend, if he doesn't want to add you as a friend on Facebook....me personally, would probably just let it go for now. He may be still adjusting to not being in NYC like he thought he belonged, his dad recently died and yes he may have been embarrassed that he didn't check on you before/after the surgery. You just don't need the stress of worrying about something you have no control over right now, imho.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Even if he was in a relationship (I don't it he is PAINFULLY SHY. He is probably scared of his own shadow) we still talk. I always wondered how he could be a fireman. He said he was in his uniform all covered up and no one saw him. It was like he was on stage. He's the kind who would have just "popped in" to the hospital to see me if he was around. OOOOH! MEN!

Hahhah Ophall you look back at the pictures and sigh and ask yoruself were they ever really that small and yet you continue in some way to see them as little babies still and love and adore on them! Max doe sit to me everytime. He looks at me with those bedroom eyes so soft and alluring, the muzzle almost could be described as a smile, and then he winky blinks at me slowly keep contact with his eyes until a brief second they are closed then they slit open and drag me back in. My heart becomes Mush and I walk over give him scritches and kisses on his soft forehead and rub my check against the top of his head heheheh!

I'm going to hop in bed with a book and hope to get sleepy soon. I'll be getting up at 6:00 tomorrow, so I'd better get in bed so I'm not too tired tomorow.

well all I am out to try and cool off enough to eventually go to bed tonight since i have a 5 am wake up call and need to be out on the road by 630 am ugh
