   My 15 year old niece is missing. She is 15, but mentally maybe 10 at the most. She hasn't been seen since 9 pm on Thursday night. My oldest sister decided to take a vacation and leave her at the house with her 19 and 20 year old brothers. I had a fit about that, but she claims they are reaponsible. Appearently not.

   She had been at the library and came home then went out again to go to the rodeo that was in town. Again I don't agree with that, but she was allowed to go anyhow. My nephew didn't tell us until today that she missing, and my sister who is on vacation didn't say a word either. Her response was, "Well what can I do about it" At that comment I lost it.

   This poor girl is out there somewhere and no one knows where. My sister that I am staying with and I went to the town where they live and searched for her for hours, we talked to the police and she has now been entered into the system as a runaway/missing person.

   Now it is just a waiting game. We have heard nothing back from the police, and nothing from her brothers if she has come home yet. One brother is devastated by all of this and the other says she deserves it. I just don't understand how my oldest sister first of all left her while she left the state to have "fun" without her. I just don't get it. Then not saying anything to us. I am going out of my flipping mind having to wait.

   Please send all the white light and healing prayers towards finding her. And also give me the strength not to kick the living crap out of my oldest sister when she drags her butt back here. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!

   Go through her room DM and look for friends' cell numbers. Start calling all her friends. My prayer is that she is with a friend since she wasn't being paid attention to at home. Please press the police--the squeeky wheel gets the grease! My prayers are with you DM.

   ((Julie)) Your niece has my prayers. I pray she is safe and will come home soon. Please keep us updated. I have a lot of unfluffiness for your sister but will keep it to myself. Are the police actively searching for her? Does she have any friends she would hang out with? I would be going out of my mind to say the least.    Prayers for you Julie and your niece, hope that she is just with friends and returns home soon.

   CM, actually police don't actively search for kids over the age of 10/11 unless they are endangered. If she does have the mental capacity of a 10 yr old, that should make a difference, it just depends on whether they truly understand that.

    All the white light and positive energy in the world for your neice to be found safe and sound, DM, I would be out of my mind with worry, as you obviously are, this is not always a safe world for kids to be out in. {{{DM and her neice}}} Thank God she has you looking out for her.

    Positive thoughts for finding your niece..DM I don't believe I will ask for strength, so you don't kick the living crap out of your sister...She needs it!!! I will ask for your strength to get your point across quickly!! By their reaction it sounds like she does this often.

    How fortunate your sister is to have a sister like you and your other sister. I pray for your niece's safety and prompt return. You must be sick from the worry. I've had family members like yours and I understand all too well what you are going through DM. All of you are in my continued prayers. Don't be surprised if your niece is found and then you and your sister are accused of being interfering where it's none of your business and overly hysterical. This is the typical response from irresponsible family members and they will want to convert this situation into something wrong with you and not them. You and your sister are right to be worried about your niece and right to be upset with your sister for neglecting this child.{{{DM,Niece & Sister}}}

    Praying for your niece's safe return. Keep nagging the police, let them see how worried you are and explain every time you speak to them that she has a mental age of 10 - it should make a difference to the way the deal with the problem.

    You might want to call the child protective services office in your sister's area and report her neglect of this child. They will have to investigate and, if necessary, take action to make sure this child is kept safe. Your niece is lucky to have you as an aunt!

    I thought about this all night. She could have gone to meet someone, she could have been snatched, she could have run away, and she could be with a friend. I hope that DM takes your advice KW and calls child protective services. I do not understand a mother that could take an Oh well I am on vacation attitude, when their child hasn't been seen in 4 days!

    SM, I was just thinking the exact same thing? How could a mother just say "oh well" and that's it? I panicked wildly when I could find Betty in my own house for nine hours!!! Oh Julie, I wish I could do something to help you. The best I can offer is prayers and hugs your way! This is NOT what you needed! You sure have had your share of bad things going on lately. I am going to pray and rub that TDK kitty stone to bring your niece home!
