  1. My youngest son, whom we affectionately call "Bear" has a unique and singular opportunity. Even though he doesn't start High School until August, he's already been selected for roles in the school's first two productions for next year. The school's Theatre Arts department also received the honor of being one of only 100 troupes in the US chosen to perform at Edinburgh's Fringe Festival (the largest of its kind in the world) in August of next year.

In order for him and the other students (there are 17 in all) to go, we have to raise about $6,000 each by next May. Needless to say, we're starting early, and if you live in the US or Canada and like pizza or baked goods (sweet or savory), you can help!

If you're interested, please go to this website:

    http://homedelivery.pizzakit.com/

We're selling Little Caesar's pizza kits right now through July 17th. The kits arrive at your home frozen and ready to assemble and bake. There's a variety of pizzas, Crazy Bread and other snacks, and even cookies and pies.

    *CRUCIALLY IMPORTANT INFO BELOW!*

When you check out, under "additional info" enter code 82236. That is the account for John B. Connally HS Theatre Arts. That's how the fundraiser money comes to us.

C'mon. Pizza night without having to tip--what more could you ask for????

Did I say how much I love my littermates?????

  2. Pizza for the arts!!! How can I say no?? That is an incredible opportunity for you son, please congratulate him for me. I love having a reason (or excuse) to eat pizza more often...Bear on stage in Edinburgh is very good reason/excuse!!!

  3. My daughter has been in Edinburgh for the past 2 days! Any opportunity like this is great! Good luck GK--I found the easiest way to get funding was to ask for sponsors. Daughter did fundraisers and it wasn't as lucrative.

  4. SM is right, when my son was in high school marching band they had many fund raisers for trips...I found that if I hit up the President of my company and ask him if any of his "CEO" friends might be interested as well, I usually hit my target amount within a week or two!!! If it was this type of fund raiser where they are selling items, the "CEO"'s would usually purchase enough to pass out to all their employees. One time the president of one of our vendors purchased a case of chocolate bars for each of his employees...lucky people!!

  5. Thanks! One of the things we're doing is a golf tournament--actually, two of them. My boss has told me that if I just tell him the date, he'll enter a foursome. He appreciates any excuse to go golfing; especially if it's during the week!

Another one that the kids are really excited about is a Guitar Hero tournament. That one is only in the initial planning stage, but the anticipation is already huge.

  6. Nothing like a good reason to eat pizza!

Gatakitty, might I suggest you contact the maker of Guitar Hero to see if they will sponsor your GH tournament? The company is Activision and maybe they might like to help out. http://www.activision.com/index.html#contact|en_US

  8. Thanks lots, Shelley! Littermates, I knew I could count on you for great ideas--S and M Squared, I forwarded yours to the Mom in Charge, since her son's a Guitar Head and mine is not--she's very excited about the idea! 2B, all our "suits" are 1000 miles away in Nashville, but there are others whose CEO's are more accessible--I'll make sure they get it.

Meanwhile, if you do order a pizza, please let me know--and touch base again after it arrives. Provecho!

Again, Littermates, thanks. Purrs and headbonks to y'all!
