  1. Good morning/evening! This morning's cafe is open air, situation on the shores of lovely Lake Michigan. You see a clear sky over the lake, a gentle warm breeze teases the treetops, and the agency kitty noses are sniffing overtime!

Chef Pierre brings out the steam tables full of scrambled eggs, Philippe is at the omelet and waffle station, and Heloise is bringing coffee and tea. The small of cooking bacon wafts through the cafe, and a couple hungry kittens go to find some....

  2. Morning Sio!..... I bet the lake is absolutely beautiful!.... I've never been up that way.... maybe someday!....

.....monsoon rain here today, streets are flooded, major thunder/lightening, rain coming down in sheets, and we're under a tornado watch!.......oh well, at least it's not a hurricane!......

... probably a good day for me to get my butt in gear and clean house.... I doubt Hazel can make it here in this weather!

  3. Ladies, good morning! I will have a pile of those eggs with some cheese and extra cheese! I will also have a tall glass of cold skim milk to go with it. I have a busy day today, have to do invoices for the month of June. YUCK! I finally got approval from my insurance and am going for testing later today to check out my brain. Whoo hoo! Won't be on too much this am as I have to do those silly invoices. Hope everyone has a nice day! :)

  4. Ahhh, beautiful setting for the cafe today. *takes in the crystal clear sky over Lake Michigan and feels a wonderful breeze. A small tabby kitten breaks Joan's transe by climbing up her jeans and demanding attention. No complaints here!*
Turning into a mushroom here; we have had almost no days that haven't seen some rain in weeks. Today it's just dreary and foggy with t-storms on the way...again.
I would love a big glass of grape juice for a change of pace. Philippe is making a ham and cheese omlet for me and insists his waffles with blueberry sauce and whipped cream are the best so I'm having one of those as well. *taps a small dot of whipped cream on the tabby's nose; she's cross-eyed trying to figure out what to do!*

  5. Would love to be outside in a fresh air cafe! An iced cappuchino and a cheese omelet and time to enjoy the morning would be ideal!

  6. I've kinda taken the Great Lakes for granted, living in Michigan, they're giant inland seas. We get the gorgeous sunsets and sunrises, and truly, "the Gales of November" can wreck ships with little to no warning. Gordon Lightfoot had it right in 'The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald'. That song brings goosebumps every time I hear it...I've seen the bell from the Fitzgerald at the Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point. Spooky place, Whitefish point...Lake Superior hardly ever gets above 50 degrees, even in the summer.

But Lake Michigan....can sometimes feel like bathwater if the summer's been a scorcher.

Doncha love it when baby kitties climb up your jeans? So sweet!

  7. Morning to all on a wet Wendesday...that is ok it will clear
up by tomorrow! Mmm a cheesey omelet with some hot black java for moi...merci! Sounds like a pretty view of Lake Michigan from your side...it is
grey over the Milwaukee edge! Have a great day/evening rain or shine!

  8. There was a program on recently about the gales of November, and subsequently told the story of the Edmond Fitzgerald. Those guys never stood a chance.
I guess I'm the opposite of you Sio, I take the Jersey Shore for granted! It is expensive, though. We find it less expensive and positively more peaceful to drive down to the outer banks of North Carolina. The beaches of Ocracoke Island are absolutely beautiful. We get a mile of beach to ourselves, but we do share it with the locals, i.e. ghost crabs, sea birds, etc.

  9. I consider today to be the first day of the rest of my life. i vow to be healthier, so in that view, i will eat a healthy diabetic diet even here in this virtual cafe. i would like 2 slices of french toast made from wheat bread, no syrup or honey, a small fresh fruit cup, 8 oz of 2 percent milk, 2 slices of bacon, and a large ice cold diet pepsi no ice. i will also take a lovable kitten to be my breakfast companion. thank you !!!

  10. Good for you Cheri! Here's a baby tabby; his twin hasn't left my side since I got here. Please join me in taking in the gentle breezes.

  11. OK it's men's quarter final day. Federer won in straight sets and now Murray is on court, playing very well. The commentators have suggested that he is still a little tired after Monday, so he wants to get it over with quickly. He won the first set 7 - 5, the second set 6 - 3 and has just broken Ferrero's serve in the third set to lead 3 - 2.

In the Hewitt Roddick match, Hewitt dropped the first set 6 - 3 but he is up 3 - 1 in the second.

  12. well, good morning PM!.... I was wondering where our resident "tennis sportscaster" was today!

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  13. Murray now leads 4 - 2.

He said that playing under the roof on Monday meant the balls were playing differently and therefore his serve was working as he expected. He is certainly destroying Ferrero now. He is now leading 5 - 2.

  18. Ahhh, I love relaxing at the cafe and the fresh air and little kitties scooting around to everyone. It's such beautiful weather here right now that I would love to be outside. But, darn, have to work. We do get a day off on Friday the 3rd for the Fourth of July holiday. I don't have a thing planned for the long weekend...just enjoy the time off and good weather predicted.

  19. Federer will play Tommy Haas in the other semi.

    Haas beat Djokovic 7 - 5, 7 - 6, 4 - 6, 6 - 3.

    Federer beat Karlovic 6 - 3, 7 - 5, 7 - 6.

  20. In the Hewitt Roddick match, Roddick has just broken back. It is now 4 - 3 in the second set with Roddick about to serve. (In his post game interview Murray said he didn't care which player won, but he hopes it's a long, tightly fought match!)

Murray's match today took 1 hour 43 minutes.

So far Roddick and Hewitt have been playing for 54 minutes.

It's deuce in the 8th game. Roddick has saved 4 break points and now has the advantage

  21. 12th game now, looks like it's heading for a tie-break.

Yes, tie break in the second set.

    Posted 2 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  22. Looks like Roddick is going to win the tie-break. He's leading 5 - 2.

They are playing on court No 1.

Hewitt has pulled it back to 5 - 4, but Roddick is to serve now.

    Posted 2 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  23. It's now 6 - 5 to Roddick, but Hewitt is serving.

    Posted 2 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  24. 6 - 6

    Posted 2 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  25. Now Hewitt has the set point (7 - 6) but Roddick is serving.

    Posted 2 years ago by Pollys_Mum_in_UK_2605 #

  26. Hewitt just fluffed a stupidly easy shot that could have won him the set!. It's now 9 - 9 after a 21 stroke rally!!!!

  27. Most of what I (vaguely) remember of Michigan (I was born there),is my mom hauling all us kids down to the basement several times in a day due to tornado warnings. It seems odd hearing of sunshine there. lol.

I think I'll have a toasted english muffin w/iced coffee,,,maybe a doubleshot. I definately need the energy. Miss Winnie kept me awake most of the night w/her zoom-zoom antics. She doesn't seem phased by the feliway diffuser. :)
