  3. Hi all! Finally have time to check in.

I got an early start because I had to stop at the tennis club to drop off tennis balls for my team to play with for the match today. Then made it to work by 8:30 (we decided on that instead of 8:00). Today I worked in XBF's office which was great since it got me away from the boss in the next cubicle. They got a few call back on my calls yesterday after I left including one that led to an appointment today so they were pleased with that.
Today they set me up to use the data website so I could search for my own leads. This was nice as I could spend a few hours doing that instead of just calling all day. I called a bunch of pet companies to try and fit them into the program we're working on! Didn't get any appointments today but left a bunch of messages and a lot of people are away for the holiday weekend.

Left there at 2:00 and went to the new pet-sitting job. Didn't go well! Got there and the lady didn't leave me money like she was supposed to. But before I noticed the lack of money, one of the dogs bit me! Thank goodness the office is so cold I was wearing heavy jeans. Still resulted in a scratch and a bruise on my leg, though! The dog kept growling at me and showing his teeth and scaring the heck out of me. Then I tried to take the smaller dog out (there are three) and that one bit my arm! Arrrrgh! What the heck? No dog-sitting dog has ever bitten me before and now I get 2 in 5 minutes!!! Anyway that wasn't much of a bite and didn't leave a mark.
I'm going back there tomorrow but I don't think I'll take the longer jobs this month for that family, since at this point I'm scared of the one that bit my leg :(

At the gym now waiting to speak to the new guy in charge and get my marching orders. EBL told me how she and BB had praised me to the new guy, so we'll see how that goes.

  4. oh GD!... sorry about the bites!.... be careful, and maybe you should get those looked at......your life exhaustes me, but I love reading about it!....

  5. GD, I would not want to sit for those dogs either and for her to not leave you any money on top if it! Shees!

  6. Thanks, AV! I'm SO tired!!!! Sooner or later I'll figure out what I'm doing. I can't keep doing both jobs but if I can for a couple of weeks before making a decision, I'll make a bit of money. Then I'll be able to afford to reject the dog-sitting job with the biting dogs!

Because of the heavy material of my jeans, all I got was a scratch on top of a bruise, so that'll be fine. My worry is what the dog will do tomorrow when I show up :(
I need to look up what to do in case you're attacked by a dog - and yes, I'm that worried. I was ready to call the lady and tell her I wasn't coming back. She's out of town and her husband's in town but at work so it wouldn't be totally awful if I just quit.

  7. And I'm still chasing another girl who owes me money from almost 2 weeks ago.

  8. ... DEFINITELY call him GD!..... you should NOT have to put up with "biting" as a sitter...... and BTW... they are "liable" if their animal injures you!.....

  9. This lady and I play in a tennis league together and run in the same circles eventhough we're not on the same team and don't hang out socially. I don't want to upset her and miss out on other opportunities if I quit in the middle of a job for her.

Oh, and I made it to the post office after work, to the dog-sitting house by 3:15, home by 3:45 and out the door with a plate of cut-up chicken and a fork at 4:00 to get to the gym. Yawn!

  11. GD, was that chicken made in your new cooking gadget???

  12. It was good. I think the recommended cooking time was a bit too much, but overall it worked really well. A bit messy to clean up, but I'm looking forward to trying it out again.

  13. Sounds tasty, I think you always have to "experiment" when you get something new!

  14. Pretty much everything in cooking is new to me, MC! :)

Arrrrgh! New boss guy is hanging around. I was chatting with GG and stupid EBL lady called so he left :(
