  1. I have been missing for a bit, but things are tough right now. Son seems to be sick, living in a unfit home, but the landlord has done right by him over the years, by letting him live in a apartment with minimal rent. However, in my opinion, toilet not working, mold growing on the walls, drains not draining and bucketing out the shower after each time, is not a good home. Son is overweight, now getting boils, has no health insurance, paying child support, which he should, but over the top for me, and having health issues. I am not trying to cover for him, we both know the situation which is more complicated than I can explain now.

    All I am asking for prayers that my son is not sicker than I think he is, and some comfort for him. I don't want anything more to happen to him. He tries, so hard, but things are not easy for him.

    Thank you, mama Lynn, PS t-storms are rolling in, so may have to shut down. Thank you again.

  5. Momma Lynn, Can he or somebody else possibly bleach the walls?

  6. Oh, Lynn I am so sorry! Certainly I will remember your son, and you, in my prayers.

    That sounds like a horribly unsafe living situation. Actually it sounds like a situation that needs to be investigated by the health department. I wish that I had some sage advice, but I'm afraid all that I can do is offer prayers.

  7. I wish he and his girlfiend would, but they don't want to "rock" the landlord, since he has given them money and helped them. Yes, WWM, it is unsafe to say the least, from what I am hearing, prayers are always welcome.

  9. I just would like to know, how these people, (Landlord) live with themselves, day after day, knowing the situation their tenants are living in. (Son is not the only tenant in building) He lives in Myrtle Beach, SC, and you know what the rents are there. So to be living cheap, you are livng in a bad home, so to speak. And he lives only one block from the boardwalk. I understand his loyalty, but at what cost to his health.

  11. Yes, I wonder about landlords like that too, Lynn. How they can look in the mirror is beyond me really. Does your son realize that he is jeopardizing his health by living in those conditions?

  12. i am sending you a prayer and a white light for your son. i am sorry he is going through this. he needs to get out of that awful apartment if he can , that maybe why he dosen't feel well. (((hugs to lynn and son)))))

  13. Thank you Beth, and WWm,and yes he does, but because the man has given him money to cover child support and let his rent slide, he feels he owes it to him to not make waves, reguardless of his health. I feel a crash and burn going on, which is normal, with the phone calls. All I can do is pray and hope for the best. Thank you.

  20. I add my prayers to all the rest, Lynn. Could your son go to a low-cost or free health clinic in his area to get checked out? Mold in the apt could be making him ill. You must feel so helpless. It is hard to see a loved one suffering and not be able to do anything to help. I know that you are a good listener and that is a positive way you can be there for him. I will keep your son in my prayers (and you too, Lynn). {{{hugs}}}

  23. Lynn, I will be praying for your son!! But something must be done with the mold...I have been through that with a place I liked a long time ago..His health will not improve while the mold is still there...Please ask him to get some bleach, and if he can afford it to pick up an air purifier...

  25. Sending prayers that your son can get some help. I too agree with bleaching the walls and also possibly checking out to see if a free clinic is available to him. Hugs to you Lynn.

  27. ((((Lynn))))...... prayers coming your way for you and Son!......

    .... speaking as a landlord myself, my best advise is call the City Code Enforcement..... our landlord/tenant act in Fla. insures tenants rights to a clean, decent place to live..... the plumbing has to work, as does the cooking and heat/ac systems.... and MOLD???!!!???? ....there are MAJOR law concerning mold and lead based paint - check into this!.... it's up to the City to enforce the health codes, but I guarantee what you described would get that landlord fined, and probably evey day until those things are fixed!.....your Son has rights!!! ..... and if mold issues are causing health issues - that can be a lawsuit........
