  1. Wandering into the TDK bar & grill wondering why it is so quiet. Kittens are napping and the lights are low. *fills food and water bowls for kits* I've turned the lights up and the Bailey's fountain is flowing. Please stop in to chat about your day.

I had another hula practice tonight, getting ready for our performance Aug. 1. This was at a hula sister's home in the country. We were outside on a warm night, dancing in the grass. It was wonderful! :)

  2. I'll leave the lights on for the late night shifters. Sweet dreams to all!

  3. Hi KW!....... "trys a simple hula girate"....... ok, better not! LOL...... busy day, and "tired" tonight!.........

.... newest pizza idea - ... simple sauce, cheese, artichokes and red peppers.... Hubbs loved that for dinner!.....

  4. Oh my, sounds like lots of good fun KW. Hula in the grass on a warm summer night under the moon and stars. Awesome.

By the way, love your new avatar!

  5. Don't I WISH it would be possible to be outside in this "summer" night!...... it's about 90+ here, with 120% humidity!!!!!...... we melt outside in Fla!

  6. Evening all - sitting here with the fan HEATER on full blast - freezing here. Had a frost this morning and expect another tomorrow. Just turned my gas fire on in the lounge to warm up the room and Dara and Ringo are parked in front.

Hula in the grass sounds divine, KW!

  8. Hi KK!!!! Long time no see!!

  9. Hi Chuck! How's the heat - still dry? Have you all settled in well? Are you continuing with your same business? (these and many other questions must be answered! LOL!)

Posted 2 years ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

  10. We are settling in nicely..yep same business, I can't believe how busy I've been. I'm not complaining, but I'm either so busy there is not enough time in the day or there is absolutely nothing happening. I'm actually doing an overnighter in California tonight. Flew in to pick up a moving truck load it and move my boys to AZ with me.

  11. Roadtrip! Glad things are going good for you - you deserve it. So how many of your kids will you have living with you?

Posted 2 years ago by KapitiKats in NZ #

  12. Hi Chuck and KK. KK, Lisa asked about corned silverside on the pickles thread -- do you know what it is? I'm guessing beef but I don't cook meat really (except for bacon and fish) so I'm not sure...

KK how is your hectic work at the moment? Chuck, are you enjoying Arizona? I am stripping wood at the moment so I have the front door wide open to help get rid of the fumes -- all I can say is BBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  13. Oops, ignore me, I see wiser heads than mine have answered the corned silverside/corned beef question...

Off to watch the news, catch you later :)

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  14. Brrrrr indeed Jcat - you certainly picked a freezing day to do that. Did you have a frost this morning? Work is slightly less hectic this week but I expect it to pick up again in the next couple of weeks. My managers son has just gone down with suspected swine flu so she will be working at home for the next few days.

  15. Ohmigosh, KK, keep washing your hands in hand sanitizer, that would be a worry. KK, yep, I'm sure we had a frost, we certainly had big slips on the Rimutaka Rd, closing the south-bound lane today. Although maybe the rain overnight kept the frost away... it's coming again tonight, so they say.... sigh...

  16. KK, I will have 3 of them living with me but my oldest son is only moving in temporarily until he gets and job and can get on his feet. My oldest daughter is also going to school there and lives about 25 minutes away.

    JCAT, I'm loving it.

  17. Chuck, that's excellent news! The way Deb talks about it, it certainly sounds like California used to be ... only fewer people, more wildlife and hotter!

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  18. Yep..fewer people, definitely hotter. I haven't seen the wildlife yet, unless you count all the stray cats in my neighborhood, but I'm sure I will.

I'm out..got a busy day tomorrow and a 6 hour drive to top it off.

  19. CCM, where is your son looking for a job?

Evening everyone, thought I would jump on before it gets crazy busy!! Love the thought of doing hula in the grass, no grass here and that is one thing besides the smell of the ocean that I miss most about California. Not that I could probably 'hula' at all these days, but its a nice thought.

  21. Evening, reading backposts.

  22. Evening, MS, I'm soon off to grab a shower but just checking in. Are you having some early nights these days? :)

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  23. Hi ya Jcat, I had an early night last night because I had to get up at 5.30 this morning to take Mr MS to work, we only found out during the evening. Had a good day today, the sun shone!
i had a thief in the house this afternoon, I heard Shadz feeding in the kitchen but then decided it didn't sound like her usual ladylike nibbling and when I checked there was a large black cat noming away. I chased it away but about 45 minutes later I again heard the messy eating sounds, another foot stomping chase and this time right past HRH who was sitting outside. I let her know she was a lousy sentry. Then this evening after she had eaten her dinner I heard her yowl and growl. I investigated and found HRH and the black cat nose to nose at the glass door. Yeah right, she finally gets tough when there is a door between them. What a wuss she is.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  24. Tee hee, don't you just love it when they just sit there and watch another cat eating their dinner?

Yep, the sun shone here too, I actually got into the garden for a bit. Did you get my email? I was a bit worried about you saying you'd been in a (near?) tail-ender yesterday, wasn't sure if your car actually got hit or not.

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  25. Ohhhhh, sorry if I gave you that impression. I was in a tail ender a couple of years ago, on a wet day just like the other poster(can't remember who it was now).

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  26. Oh, good, I'm glad it wasn't yesterday, don't worry, I quite often get hold of the wrong end of the stick (I'm a journalist, lol), it was Catherine of Waco, sounded nasty, I'm glad she was all right and I'm glad you are too :)

I got some bulbs in the ground today (50 crocuses) -- planted them close to the house -- but there are still some bulbs in the fridge (think they're daffs but can't remember... could be something else) and a whole lot of daffs in the garage! I want to plant them in the orchard area but the ground's too hard to dig (whinge, whine)...

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  27. LOL about the journalist quip, be careful, one end of the stick may be muddy.
Ohhhhhhh, surprise bulbs! ! You'll just have to plant them and wait to see what they are. Well done getting 50 crocuses in today, it's a start.

  28. It was a nice soft flower bed so it wasn't too bad... As long as it rains overnight to 'bed them in'...

I better go grab that shower before I get too distracted... sweet dreams, MS, if you head off again before I get back...

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  29. Sweet dreams to you too Jcat. You appear to have rain on the way at the moment according to the rain radar. Your wee bulbs will get their watering in now. I think I'll be here for a while.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  30. Hi, I'm back, all wet and dripping (well, my hair, anyway) and Jasper is snatching his usual opportunity to demand to be cuddled when I'm in front of the computer...
