sumi vomiting with diarrhea

Just back from the vet and sumi has really turned the corner! She is doing great, only one tiny bout of diarrhea since last night (it's midday here) and eating well now, very bright and strong and really wants to play. I'm so glad she didn't get the medication to stop diarrhea now, as that could have brought its own complications. My friend took the dog, and she's off to a new home in the west of Ireland on Friday, lucky girl. She was to be taken to the dog pound today if nobody took her, and we all know what that means.

Yay that Sumi is doing so much better! I was so worried for her. Great news that the dog found a new home too. Sending more healing thoughts to Sumi to continue getting better. Hugs to you Eleniki for helping Sumi.

Thank you all so much. Sumi is now hoovering up her dinner - she nearly climbed into the saucer. I just can't believe the difference between this and the dull-eyed, sad, starved little creature of the night before last. She is still pretty weak, and has lost about 25% of her body weight (weighs about 1.7lbs now) and wants to sleep a lot, but oh yeah, she is on the mend! She jumped on miso's head just now, after escaping from her safe room, so poor miso is being terrorized again... Meanwhile my friend tells me the dog has been named Wiza (by her husband, who is a Berber man) and won't let them out of her sight. I know they'll have bonded with her so much by friday that they won't want to leave her with my friend's parents! But she'll have a fantastic life there in the countryside, with company 24/7.

Couldn't wait to get home today to check on Sumi. Thank you God and wonderful Mama!! Kisses and gentle hugs for baby Sumi :)...when she is better I want to squeeze her tight!!!

Thanks guys :-] She is going from strength to strength now! This morning she shot out of her room and down the stairs, all business, before I had a chance to blink! She jumped on miso, who hissed at her of course, then raced into the kitchen and squealed for more food. She is famished! Needs to make up for 5 days starvation, and LOVES her new complete organic food (called Lily's Kitchen, but an English brand, only just available here now, so I don't think it's got to the States yet). She's fast asleep again now, still pretty weak overall. Meanwhile my friends are in love with Wiza, who slept in their bedroom and got a lovely bath and brushing last night, plus 3 walks. She goes to her new furever home tomorrow. It's all good!!
