  1. Poor old Bones has gone sharply downhill in the last few days - sunken eyes, backlegs giving way, forgetting where his food and bed and tray are...his eyes just seem to say he's had enough. I'll be bringing Mum over to see him tomorrow, and will need to gently suggest that perhaps it's time to let him go. Depending on what we decide, I'll start another thread, because I know Mum will appreciate and treasure the words of support you will offer - but just for now could I have some of that famous TDK white light and your prayers for tomorrow.

  5. MCW Bones is a grand old gentleman too. I am so very sorry. My prayers are that he can rebound. Also prayers for you to be able to make the correct choice and words to help your Mum make a very difficult decision. Prayers of peace and comfort to you both--I am so very sorry and wish there was something more that could be done.

  6. Thank you, all of you. I'm afraid there's no bouncing back for Bones now, he's had all the help the vets have been able to give him to get him to this point - which we've known would be coming sooner rather than later, and also knew the decline, when it came, would be quite dramatic. I'm trying to work it out in my head, and will probably put things provisionally in place for Mum to then give her consent to. We'd agreed a while back that it would happen here in his home and not at the vets, and I'm looking at Friday, so if I get the whole day off work I can bring Mum here and then be around to spend time with her as she wants over the weekend.

I'm not too bad thanks TL - neck (touch wood) seems to be easing up a little and I've been able to cut down my night time dose so am not quite so drowsy in the mornings.

  26. And God asked the feline spirit,
"Are you ready to come home?"
"Oh yes, quite so" replied the precious soul.
"And as a cat, you know I am most able to decide anything for myself."

"Are you coming then?' asked God.
    "Soon." replied the whiskered angel,
    "But I must come slowly,
Because my human friends are troubled, for you see,
    They need me,quiet certainly."

"But don't they understand?" asked God.
"That you will never leave them?
That your souls are intertwined for all eternity?
That nothing is created or destroyed,?
It just is. . . . forever and ever and ever"

    "Eventually they will understand,"
    replied the cat.
"For I will whisper in their hearts that I am always with them.
"That I just am. . . forever and ever and ever."
