  1. I took Ally this morning to be spayed. The house is so quiet without her. Lucy and Kyba look worried. Oh...poor Ally...

Are you picking up Ally later today or are they keeping her overnight?

  3. Supposed to pick her up at 330. I may not be able to get her until my husband gets home though at 530. Good gravy this house just isn't the same!

  4. awww LB..I know that feeling. At least she is coming home tonight. Are they going to call you so you know she is okay and out of surgery?

  5. I didn't ask, but I wish I did. I'll probably call at 330 if I can't get down there then to make sure.

  7. ((LB)) Hopefully the day will pass quickly and your baby will be home soon!

  8. I remember the same feeling of wishing our babies were home and not at the spa getting spayed and neutered. It passes quickly though and we had NO problems whatsoever. Ally will be as happy to see you as you will to see her. =)

  9. Thank you so much for all your comfort. I am going to be able to get her at 330. I'll post an update after I get her back.

  10. LB you have done one of the kindest things for Ally! Cats that are spayed live longer lives. Although spa day is no fun for anyone, it is necessary to help your kitteh live a longer life. Prayers of peace to you--the waiting is the worst.

  11. Awwww, Ally! Hope the day goes fast and she will be home :)

  12. She's home and looks so pitiful! She also looks so skinny. I can't wait till the kids go to bed so I can let her out of my room.

  13. LB...I know what you mean. Ally will probably feel a bit under the weather the rest of today & into tomorrow from the anestesia. She'll bounce back in no time tho. But do keep an eye on her that she doesn't try to lick at or mess w/her stitches. Some kitties don't get bothered by them & then others will have no part of them & want to pull them out.
Chin scritches to sweet Ally & {{{HUGS}}} to you.

  17. LB, does Ally have to wear one of those cone collars? Leela hated hers! When I picked her up from her day at the spa last October, they gave me some pain meds and one of those collars. They also said she would probably go home and sleep, since she was still doped up. Noooo, not Leela. She went absolutely wild when I put the collar on her and didn't settle down for hours. She doesn't have the nickname Spitfire for nothing! I made her deal with it for the night and the next day, then took it off when she was supervised. After just a day or two, it was clear she wasn't going to pick at the stitches, so she got a bunch of TDK friends to sign her collar and it's with her mementos.
{{{Ally}}} Leela says she hopes you feel better very soon.

  18. Thanks for all your support! They did send Ally home with pain meds. She seems pretty out of it still. I made her an e collar, but it isn't staying on. She is just itching to lick at her staples. I wish she'd quit because now I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight.

  19. when i had Spice syaed 12 years ago, she stayed overnight at the vet's, but was perky and active when i brought her home. i shut her up in an upstairs bedroom because it was Halloween Night that night. she never bothered her stitches but her belly was huge after a few days and fluid had to be drained from it, but she was ok !!!

the spay never slowed her down !!!

  20. Oh goodness! Glad she was ok. They didn't tell me anything about that. Thanks for the heads up.

  21. i remember when i brought george home after i got him neutered, he laid in my arms looking like he was high on crack. he was limp as a rag, and just smiled at me purring in the car. it was weird! i missed him when he was there because the rest of our gang also missed him. we had 13 cats in the house then. now we are down to 2.

  22. Goodness...13? If my house was really big I'd definitely have more than 3! Ally is doing well this morning. We got a makeshift e collar on her, but it is doing the trick. She is still alittle off, but getting back to herself.

  24. awww so adorable! ya we had 13...most were kittens and we kept them in the garage....we had chuckie the start and her gang...george, pattie, and their kids, our doofer, and muffy in a seperate room. we rescued muffy from my grandad who wasnt caring for her properly.

  25. Awwww Ally! How is she today, LB?

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  26. Hope Ally is feeling better today. She's so cute! Your makeshift e-collar is way nicer than the crappy plastic thing they gave me. Guess that's why I felt the need to have it signed by her TDK buddies and decorated!

  27. Hey all! Ally is doing great this morning. She is running around playing and back to herself. I think Kyba was really happy this morning because they spent about an hour playing. I'll be glad when they take her staples out next Monday and it'll all be over with.
