   We said goodbye and God bless to Bones at about 2.20 this afternoon. He passed very peacefully, and, we hope, is now bouncing around the meadow at Rainbow Bridge and meeting all the Mitchell cats who have been so loved before him.

   A special adaptation of Night Night Furball :

   Night night Bonesy
   Close your eyes
   Dream of chasing butterflies
   Basking in the sunshine
   Jumping up trees
   Exciting smells in a gentle breeze

   Sleep tight Bonesy
   Love you little friend

   Awwww, Bones....I am so sorry for you and your Mum's loss, MCW. He is now pain-free and chasing butterflies in the green meadow. We are never ready to let them go...wishing you all peace and hope you can be comforted by all your wonderful memories of him.

   {{{{MCW}}} I'm tearing up at work here, but I'm so glad Bones was able to go peacefully. He was a wonderful, much-loved cat and he knew it. He's safe now, and healthy again. Tell him to keep an eye out for an oversized orange furrball, more fuzz than brains, name of Kilroy. He's been at the Bridge for years, and would be honored to show Bones around.

   Bones, you touched hearts across the world. We all love you and will miss you very much. Although you are now playing at the bridge, you will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Bones. Hugs to you Jen and to your Mum. I lit a candle as well.

   A Special Gift

    I am picturing Bones touching noses with Shaddo; I feel like he was expecting him and was there to greet him. For some reason, they seem like they had a lot in common. Sigh...I guess another big party at the Rainbow Bridge. RIP, Bones.

    Again I am so sorry for your loss. I pray that your Mum feels comfort in the fact that Bones feels no pain and now is in a good place. Prayers of comfort and peace to you MCW and especially for your Mum--it is so hard to lose a furry friend.

    Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
    When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

    All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
    They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

    You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

    Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

    The Wolf looks down at the beautiful young tuxedo cat resting on his paws, a new arrival to the Meadow and the Bridge. The young cat blinks himself awake in the sweet sunlight.

    "Welcome, friend Bones," the great Wolf whispers to the sweet bundle of fur. Bones' white bib and paws sparkle like snow against the green grass, and Bones realizes where he is. And his eyes glow with joy, as the others gather around him.

    "Tag, you're it!" yells Sultan, tapping Bones with an elegant sable paw, and Bones races after him. Bones feels so strong, his legs stretching out across the emerald lawn. The other kits join in the chase, and three young dogs follow them, tasting the air with pink velvet tongues.

    "Daisy, Roo, Bastian, the Bomber, Tex, Titch, Macey, Kilroy, Shaddo, Mr. Bugg, Tristan, Kizzy, Sultan, Andy, Hootie, Milo, Tiger Lilly."

    The Wolf whispers the names to himself.

    "So many of them, and they all seem to know each other."

    The Wolf smiles, watching the game of tag that surges across the Meadow.

    Sweet Bones - we have all known you as the elderly gentleman of our family. I love all of the poems that have been written here, and I love Emma's story because I know that it must be true and that you are playing with all of our beloved kitties.

    I am sad for MCW, for her mum but not for you, Bones. You were so tired and it had become so hard. Now you are beautiful and young again and you can run and play just as you did all of those years ago. And you are surrounded by love. You can so much love here, and you were so well loved in return. Everyone will miss you, Bones. But you will never be forgotten.

    Please give my Bomber, Skimbleshanks, Willie and Mandy a kiss for me. Well done, Bones!
