   Someone on another forum I belong has posted a situation a friend of hers is in. Friend works for the ASPCA in the Altoona/Hollidaysburg area of PA. Someone brought in a mama kitty and her brand new babies this morning. Friend's boss says they'll have to euthanize all the kittens because the ASPCA doesn't have the funds to raise the babies until they're weaned. Friend has asked to be allowed to take the kitties home to foster, but won't know until tomorrow if she will be allowed to do so.

   I read it and came straight here. Can anyone help?

   Please urge your friend to INSIST that she be allowed to take them and Mama to foster. If need be call the media and/or a no kill shelter for transfer or moral support. My experience with the SPCA in PA is not good, but if you are pushy and /or scare them with publicity , they will reluctantly give in. Hard to believe that she has to request to help . I was in a very similar situation some yrs back when I lived in PA.

   The only one they are out money on is the mother as she needs to be fed, but she is feeding the babies. It is just cruel not to let someone foster those kittens!

   Hi! Ok i KNOW this is a bit of a drive from altoona, but if she can get to coopersburg in PA there's a no-kill shelter called animals in distress. otherwise, if she'd be willing to make the way to bethlehem, i'd be glad to see what *i* could do!

    My friend's friend was allowed to take the mama and babies home!!!
