I'm so relieved! I got the confirmation & an email from Jadete telling me it arrived this morning! Now she has the help of an extra trap to get Hoover Boy home.
Did I say Yayyyyy?

What finally caught Hopper in it was,there is more space in this trap between the trip plate & back of trap. I was able to tie a piece of chicken to the top back of the trap far enuf to where he had no choice but to trip it to get the meat. I had no idea how outdated my trap was till I recieved that one in the mail...*Thank You family for helping me when I needed it the most*

I should own Petsmart stock w/the amt. of time I've had to spend in their store,but,for the life of me, I've never seen or heard of these Licketty Treats you all have been mentioning here. It stems,I guess from getting in,getting what I need (& that includes kitten fix w/store kitties) & then getting out.
With that said...what in the world are Licketty Treats? Anything like Temptations (all my kits love them)?

My girls love them too! GD sent some to Betty and Wilma after my surgery. I believe PetsMart is the only store that carries them! They are very addicting to kitties!

Okay I got the trap and brought it home. It took me awhile to get the box open - Feral taped it up REAL good! It is the same size as my other one, but ALOT less rusty. I think that is part of the reason the other one doesn't work so well. I do like the way the back of it opens up. Now I don't have to reach waaay back there to put the food in. Also, it will be easier to tie some meat in there. Great idea, BTW. This evening I made tuna casserole and put some of the tuna water in the cage too. Makes it nice and smelly.... So now I have this trap set up out by the shed and the other one in front by the porch. Pray that this will work everyone!! P.S. Thank you Feral!!!

Jadete...Hahaha...Liked my tape job,did ya? And I know what you mean by reaching way in. That was one of the first things I got excited about. Then I realized how much difference there was with the space between the trip plate & back of trap. That was the clincher for successful trapping. BTW...that very same trap was respomsible for catching the final 2 kittens together of Ms.Hissy's 3rd litter of 4 kits. They were still quite small & one followed the other right into the trap & bingo! 2 for the price of 1. So,it was lucky for me more than once.
Thanks you guys for the added Prayers. I know Jadete appreciates them.
Lily..know what you mean. It's been like trying to trap Hopper all over again.

Thinking positive thoughts that this weekend you will catch Hoover. I found out that the petsmart in my area doesn't carry the lickittys in the store. I have to order it online to get them. I might do that when I get paid next Friday.

I hardly slept last night, I was thinking I might catch Hoover during the night. But alas, nothing in either trap this morning. Maybe he hasn't smelled it yet, from way down the road. I have to learn to be patient! Note to self: check out the PetSmart near work for Lickettys

Its crazy Jadete, cats LOVE those things! GD got my girls hooked and they wail for their LickKitty! I pray that Hoover will catch wiff of it and jump in! I know it is hard to be patient but I am so relieved you had a Hoover sighting! My prayers are still coming, St. Frances is working overtime trying to get that little boy home! We miss you Hoover! Come home to meowma please!

Jadete...does your neighbor down the street have alot of ferals hanging in her yard? I ask because if she only has her own cats,maybe she would allow you to set the trap up under a bush near where she spotted Hoover. Of course she may want to keep hers in for a night. The inconvenience would only be for a short time & well worth it if you could catch Hoover over at her place. It's a thought. I know it's not always easy...boy do I know & I live in a mobile home park,so it makes it easier to w/the neighbors letting me use their yard or cut thru them to check the traps.
Please don't get discouraged. My Ms. Hissy was even smarter than Hopper. In the end,I had to set up a lrg.dog cage w/a rope attached to the door & winding around the corner of the house. After a week of seeing her go in & eat from it & being comfortable in it,I was able to yank the rope,closing her in it. You'd have laughed. Holding onto the rope,while at the same time walking closer to the cage to lock it shut,it was as if I'd caught a wild Stallion. I sat on the ground next to her,talking calmly to her for a good half hour till I stopped shaking. hahaha. Just keep telling yourself your gonna catch him. It Will happen. :)
