  3. ...*sighs*.... just finished the entire "Twilight" series!..... what a wonderful story!......

.... guess I'll have to start our next book club book now!... looking forward to it!...

... WWM, how did your dinner party go the other night? What did you end up serving?

  4. 102F is 39C ! ! OMG that's hot WWM. It's 10C (50F) here at the moment and probably considered warm as it's raining. I'm in the process of making 5L of vegetable and grain soup. It's keeping me warm chopping all the veges up.

  5. Let's see - which dinner? We had a friend on Wednesday. We had beer butt chicken on the grill, lemon dill rice, peas with mushrooms, Caesar salad and Boston creme pie.

  6. That dinner sounds heavenly, WWM!! I just ate a couple of slices of banana nut bread that turned out, if I might say so myself, pretty darn good! I dropped off a loaf for my parents the other day and my dad actually called me to tell me how good it was--and, he never calls so he must've liked it! :)

Isn't this heat oppressive, WWM? I was in the Denny's parking lot this morning saying goodbye to my sister and we both couldn't wait to get into our cars (which probably had an internal temp. of 3000 degrees!) because it's so friggin' hot out! Early evening and it's still over 100!!

I miss having a grill!!! I'm thinking about building a house, so at least I'll be able to grill if I want!

  7. wait, did you buy or make the pie, cause that sounds REALLY good!

And AV, what are you making for dinner tonight?

after I hear these answers, THEN I'm leaving ;)

  9. Linda!!! Thanks for the recipes!!

  10. Sounds like Spring weather to me, CM!! It was only 95 the other day and it was actually bearable to be outside! I hate this hot, humid weather--and it looks like 7 more days ahead with temps. over 100. Maybe I'll move to Seattle? :)

  11. I think that WWM must be the bestest cook! I want to go to her house for dinner! YUM! I like the banana bread too FH! Just wait CM, its really gonna get humid now! We had that weather yesterday and today it is unbearable! "Air you wear" I say!

  15. back later..trying to get Abbers to bed

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  16. Yeah, I've enjoyed it Linda! I didn't make the banana bread in it, though.:)
The turkey meatballs that GD mentioned the other night are awesome! I bought a few more things to try in it--I've just been downright lazy lately!

Posted 2 years ago by FondaHonda #

  17. It's too hot to be anything other than lazy, FH!

    I'm going home now...bye all!

  18. bye bye linda

  19. Turkey meat balls!! I mentioned them to my Panera friend today and she's going to try to make them. Doesn't have the oven, but she liked the idea of using the stuffng mix t make them.

GG just texted me and told me he was going for a swim in his pool and told me I was welcome to join him. No way!!! He's never want to hang out with me again after seing me in a swim suit!!! He also suggested doing something else later so I told him let's do that. Unfortunately I have to go stay overnight with OB's daughter, but she stays out to all hours, so I guess I can do the same.
Wish me luck (again!) with GG?

  20. Linda, I just made Daughters' comfort food favs tonight!... Slow braised baby back ribs in the oven, Mac N cheese from scratch, and fresh green beans!... running out to a movie now!

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  21. YAY GD! Good luck with GG

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  22. alright GD!!! Good luck..not that you need it..he is obviously interested!

Okay..I need everyone's opinion. I was friends with this girl in high school, we were close but over time after we graduated we lost touch etc and to be honest, I lost any interest to be her friend. We just didn't mesh any more...so I moved back to Ohio in 1992 well we would talk occasionally here and there. The last time I talked to her was I think 2003-2004..she got my number and called me..we talked..and never heard from her again. Well she found me on facebook and wants me to call her to catch up.I really don't want to. Tonight is the perfect night to call her since Maddie is gone and I could have a conversation but am I bad for not calling her.

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  23. CM, I have people like that annoying me on Facebook. I hate to say it but I have moved on with my life and am not talking to them by my choice. I am not sure I would call her if you dont want to!

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  24. I added her as a friend and she's not active too much on FB but my thought is just email me..do we really have to talk..lol

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  25. No mention of GG's brother tonigt!!! I told him I'd text him when I'm ready to go. We hven't talked about what we're doing. Hmmm.... If I knew, I could get dressed...At least I had time for a shower.

CM, tell her you're really busy with a baby and toddler and it's hard to find time for chatting on the phone. Maybe that'll get her off your back.

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  26. agreed

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  27. I did tell her that GD, and hopefully she will not expect me to call anytime soon. I just feel bad that I don't call her. I don't know why...she's in AZ so the time difference makes it harder too. Oh well. I am off to relax and bed soon :)
Have a great time GD and let us know the details!!!!!

Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

  28. I jut texted him that I'm ready. For what, I don't know!

Posted 2 years ago by GreatDane #

  29. CM, no my friend you are not terrible about not wanting to call. You have a much busier life now with two little ones, your husband, and just you to take care of now and honestly talking can be exhausting at times. You probably cherish the quiet times when you can get them. If you can maintain an email and/or letter writing that would still be keeping in touch but not an overwhelming kind.
