Well the cute little cat rescued from Crete by my partner's Dad and girlfriend passed away on Fri for uknown reason. They had discovered she was pregnant and were starting to get really excited about her kittens. They were planning on keeping one and they had nearby friends and relatives that were already asking for kittens. They took her in to the vet Thurs to get her ultrasound and the kittens were healthy and squirming and she was ready to go into labor any day. They noticed her starting to look for a cozy place so they started getting up every half hour to check on her. At about 2am they heard her let out a strange loud meow and she was gone shortly after. They rushed her to the vet but it was too late. The vet said the kittens had gone about two hours before she did. They are devistated for Cutie and for the kittens she was carrying. They were anticipating the excitment of new life and dealing with the end instead was the last thing anyone expected.

Thank you very much everyone. It's such a shame, so sad. My partner said it had been a very long time since she heard her dad cry and to think he had never considered himself a "cat person" before. Obviously Cutie made a huge impact on him. Of course that doesn't come as a suprise me, that's just what cats do.

I am so sorry to hear this. The vet had no clue as to what happened?

So sorry. Maybe your partner's dad will consider taking that love for Cutie and honoring her by giving another needy cat a home.

No unfortunately we have no answers as to what happend to her. Not knowing is hard too because they keep saying what if they had the vet remove her kittens that morning or what if we had stayed right by her all night or what if...
KYKAT, I do think it is likely they will adopt again when they are ready.

You can make yourself crazy with 'what if's'. It's best to just accept that there was a reason beyond our understanding why they were taken to the Rainbow Bridge so early.
Cutie knew unmeasurable love and care before she left this earth - what more can anyone ask for?

I'm so, so sorry, that is beyond heartbreaking and such a terrible shock. CBM is right, they took the best possible care of Cutie, if the vet did an ultrasound just that morning and everything looked fine and the vet saw nothing wrong, how could anyone have expected anything to go wrong?
{{{HUGS}}} to your partner's Dad and girlfriend, poor little Cutie, but she was loved and happy right up till the end.

Oh, no. Poor Cutie. At least she had you and knew love. I'm so very sorry, Ama. ((hugs))
