  1. Happy Tuesday! We must celebrate Meegz engagement! YAY! Let have a huge champagne brunch! Remember, no calories here and the alcohol won't make you tipsy! Beautiful bouquets of flowers adorn the tables and kittehs are ready to serve you. The kittehs are also looking to purr and snorgle with you. Please let's raise a toast for Meegz and Andrew! Hope you have a fantastic day! I am off to work but hope not to stay long, had a super long day yesterday so I deserve it! (These "part time" days don't need to last 9 hours!) Welcome!

  2. Morning, MC, don't forget it's Bastille Day as well, Happy Meegz-and- Andrew's-engagement-in-Tahiti-Bastille-Day-cafe!

  3. Good morning MC and Jcat. Bastille Day indeed, I remember celebrating it when I was learning French at college. I'll have a fresh croissant and coffee followed by a glass of celebratory champagne.
What wonderful flowers all around and I love the kitties in aprons and wee bow ties.

  4. Don't tell anyone but it's also my parents' wedding anniversary, MS, that's how I remember... Pass some more celebratory champagne (hic!)

  5. Woohoo, another toast, raises glass to Jcat's parents on their wedding anniversary. (hic!) ;-)
Dare I ask how many years?

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  6. Eek, well, I'm (mumble mumble) so it's about (mumble mumble)... 47th or possibly 48th I theeennk...

  7. Chuckling away here. That's a wonderful milestone and a bigger one on the horizon.
I bet it's cold at your place tonight, it's cold here. The Desert Rd is closed by snow, brrrrrrr.

  8. .... oh dear, 7:30 am here, and we're already into the champagne! (hic!)...... I might now get a whole lot done today!.....

..... flowers and champagne - makes me think of WEDDINGS!..... so happy for Meegz!..... will she get married in NZ, or US?.......

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  9. It is, MS, it is, even though my mother was muttering darkly about divorcing him a few days ago...

It was so cold here today, MS, that even though there was a bit of sun I DIDN'T go outside and plant any bulbs, and wore my duvet round the house instead. And I broke down and put on an extra heater tonight. And apparently the Wairarapa is running out of wood to burn... Yep, snow down to 600 metres tonight...

  10. Ohhhh, champagne brunch!!!
For some reason I don't believe WWM would approve of celebrating Bastille Day :)

Day three without car today and no chance of getting it fixed til probably Saturday since I need to get pad befoe I can afford it.
I took a bus to the gym yesterday and GG drove me home (no busses at that hr). He told me to go ahead and call him when I need a ride and he'll try to help out. Very nice of him, but I feel bad asking.
This moring XBF will pick me up and take me to the new job and from there I'll take two busses to the gym. Will probably have him come pick me up from the gym tonight, too. Or GG if I hear from him.

  11. Meegz is the one living here in NZ so they'll be married here. We'll just have to make sure we have Airy back from Ca for the wedding though. There was lots of squeals on the phone tonight as Meegz informed two of her closest friend from school.

  12. Hello peeps!

LOL, I can imagine WWM going back in time and storming the Bastille with the rest of the revolutionaries!!!

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  13. Morning, AV and GD, you snuck in! AV, I thought we all decided they were getting married in Tahiti and we were all coming along...

Tee hee, I know WWM might not approve but a French organisation is single-handedly supporting my employment at the moment, so I have reason to be grateful...

Oh, no, GD, that's bad news about the car. They are total money pits, aren't they? A silver lining though -- more chance to spend time with GG, I bet he's looking forward to it so don't feel bad about calling him ;-)

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  14. ....slaps head!.... I was getting things mixed up with Airy!...... wonderful that things will be done in NZ - much easier for you I'm sure..... so Andrew is from NZ too? Do they live far from you?

Posted 2 years ago by AV #

  15. GD, your very busy life just got busier and more complicated. I hope your car is repaired very soon. However you are getting to see GG a bit more, not necessarily a bad thing.
Jcat, it's so darn cold here I have to go to bed, can't stand the cold anymore.
Good night Jcat, sleep tight and warmly and scritches to your bed warmers. Have a wonderful day to all the day shift.

  16. LOL, MCW, I feel anyone who loves cooking the way that WWM does, must have more than a drop or two of French blood in her ancestry way back when... (That's meant as a compliment, truly, WWM.)

Nighty-night, MS, believe me, I understand. When I've finished this piping hot cup of tea I'm off for a staggeringly hot shower... Sweet dreams and scritches to YOUR two bedwarmers, too ;-)

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  17. Jcat, you are a very brave woman, I assume you've only said that safe in the knowledge that WWM is way over the other side of the world!!!

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  18. Ooh, Jcat, I forgot to tell you - Mum loved your avator as she was going through the RIP Bones thread (she loved all of them, but she particularly liked the "YAHH!" aspect to your's!!)

Posted 2 years ago by MadcatwomanintheUK #

  19. Meegz lives about a 90 minute drive away and Andrew when he isn't away working lives in my city, so Meegz is over this way as often as possible and we've seen more of her this year than we have in a long time.

    Posted 2 years ago by Moonshadow_NZ #

  20. Oh, please forgive me, WWM, *cowers*, truly, it was meant as a compliment to your gastronomic skill but I will take it back immediately if you object.

Only, *timidly*, I LOVE Paris. I'm sorry, I can't help it. And they are sending me money, right now, and they're the only people who are...

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  21. ooohhh, a celebration brunch! How wonderful! Send the kitties around with more champagne.

Posted 2 years ago by LadyKat of IA #

  22. Awwwww! Please thank your Mum for me, MCW. I will be sure and tell Libby that your mum liked her cattitude! It may be my last utterance...

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  23. Ha ha ha! I too have felt the wrath of WWM ref age related issues (I happened to mention I'd barely been born - or was it not even born? - when she and Mr WWM got married!!!) - rest assured her rage is short lived and easily humoured (but boy can she hold a grudge!!!!!)

    Love you WWM!! :o)

Right, I'd better get on and do some work. Might be back later, toodle pip!

  24. Morning, all!

Well, we were up at 3am (ack!) and Mr. K was out the door at 4; he called just before 6 to say they were on the plane. This was a relief; as anyone who attended the Porter's get-together in April know, he has a tendency to underestimate the time needed to get places.

George was whining for a bit after his favorite hoomin left, but then he chased his ball under the futon and made Mamma get it for him, so that cheered him up. Now he's busy murdering another paper bag.

One of my challenges while Mr. K is away is to *not* go in to the office hours early just because I'm up. I have a book and I'm going to try to spend some time reading every morning.

Yikes, enough about me (sorry)! Hooray for Meegz's good news! Hope everyone is having, or had, a lovely Tuesday.

Posted 2 years ago by Kilroy #

  25. Bye for now, MCW!

LOL @ George, murdering that bag, you kill it good and dead, Georgie!

Oh, Kilroy, never mind about George, you will miss your favourite hoomin too. But *brightens* you get to do all the things and eat all the meals Mr K doesn't like to while he's gone.

  26. Wow, flowers, kittens, champagne - this is beautiful! Another busy day so I'd better get to it. Almost finished putting the 2008-2009 school year to bed; just have to get ready for the annual audit. Then it's time to get my 1300 children their busses.
    Have a great day everyone!

  27. Morning, Joan, my, you have a lot of rugrats ;-)

Posted 2 years ago by jcat #

  28. YES YES YES, Jcat, I eat the foods I like and my spousal unit does not, when he's out of the house. I -love- Indian cuisine, and I'm thinking of doing a lunch buffet on Saturday while he's at the RenFaire/his job (smacks lips in anticipation of chicken tikka).

I still have more sewing to do, but ya gotta eat too...

I'll have a TUMBLER of mimosas this morning, those champagne flutes won't hold nearly enough to celebrate the good news about Meegz.

Posted 2 years ago by Siobhan #

  29. My kitties love paper bags too. Tansey likes to sit on them and rip them apart with her little teeth. :-) She's our 'shredder'

Posted 2 years ago by Siobhan #

  30. Ooh, yum, Indian food... that's one of my favourites too!

A tumbler of champagne, now that's a good idea... *Sway, hic, stumble...*

I think I had better head off to this shower and my bed before I fall over. Have a great day, all!
