Thanks, Linda! I was more worried the car would overheat, the pump go, then the radiator, etc. etc. til it ended up being way more than the $670 estimate the mechanic gave me to fix the pump. If that happened, I wouldn't be able to afford to fix it and I wouldn't be able to work.
I'm going to call around and get a few estimates from other places. The UPS driver who comes by the gym every day has a buddy who owns a shop around here and he's going to bring the guy's card tomorrow. One of the guys at the new job gave me a name and number, too, of someone.
GG is here! :)

GD, glad you have a car to borrow, it's so stressful not having dependable transportation....although my hubby does not cook (ala Kilroy) he is a mechanic so I am very lucky in that department. I told my friends at work one time that I have to sleep with my mechanic to get any car work done, they were shocked until I told them the truth, LOL!!!

Absolutely! XBF told them to wait on the water pump and got them to knock the price down by $100. As it is, more than half the cost was for labor. And I don't get why they charge tax on the labor - as a service, that shouldn't be taxable. That cost me an extra $25.00.

awwww Nessa, I think Ivy is very lucky. What an awesome thing for your fiance to do for you. Ivy will keep Fannie's memory alive and what a great tribute to Fannie by loving and caring for another kitty who needed a good home. Maybe when Ivy is settled, you can post some pictures.

Wow!... trying to catch up - let's see, Nessa so sorry about Fannie. Your fiance seems to be a great guy, and I hope you and Ivy have a long and healthy life together - can you post pics for us??
AV, hope you get the offer you're looking for, all fingers and paws are crossed here for you!!
GD, I get tired just reading about your busy life!! Glad XBF is still there to help out with 'stuff'... what happened with the creepy tow truck driver - did you get any money back?? Hope all is going well with GG!
WWM, I am going to buy one of those pillows tomorrow... maybe we could do an infomertial together ;-) And I think they should make a full size one, too!!!
MC, I posted a comment earlier about your date, and I am wishing all the best for you....
I'm trying to keep up with the goings on around here, I'm just dealing with 'puter problems and 'stuff' at home.... I'm here lurking, and posting as much as I can.
