My sweet Gracie has been sick for the past year and a half, and slowly wasting away. The vet never was able to figure out what was wrong or even treat the symptoms. Yesterday, I decided to put an end to her suffering. She was bone thin, unable to eat much wet food, unable to keep down any dry food, although she always tried. She was getting weak, and sadly inactive. I decided it was just time.
I stayed home from work, and spent the day with her. Had a nice last nap together, lots of petting and cuddles. The vet's office was very kind, and she went very quickly and peacefully. It was really nice to be able to say goodbye to this one. No more yucky special foods. No more sore butt from 19 months of diarrhea. No more trips to the vet to get poked and prodded. No more hassled from other bigger girl cats. Just peace and love over the rainbow bridge.
She will be missed. http://www.whistl.com/blogs/media/blogs/blog/RIPGracie.jpg
