Hey everyone! I hope all are well. Sio, that is scary about the intruder in the back yard. Have you considered putting in motion sesnor activated lights? I would think anyone hopping the fence would hop right back out again when the back yard lights up bright enough for micro-surgery!

Oh wow, SM..swine flu. Definitely take care of yourself. Sending you some healing white light.
Jcat, you are quite industrious to put in all those daffodil bulbs. I do love daffodils and irises. The apt I had before I got married to my ex had a nice patio with two areas to plant in. The first spring I was in the apt, to my surprise one of the plots had irises coming up. They were in three different colors (light purple, white and yellow). It was such a nice surprise.
Yay for Matt! CM, hope your headache goes away. Yay for Georgie being such a good boy around his Momma. Gini, I hope Taco is okay. Poor boy! How scary Siobhan to have an intruder. I agree with Kykat on the motion sensor lights except if they are triggered alot by cats or raccoons. The idea of putting something on the fence is a good idea. GD, glad your dog sitting client was so nice and able to lend you a car till you can afford to fix the water pump. It always seems that if you buy a car with close to 100k miles or more on it, that it is inevitable that something will need replacing. Cars are money pits whether they are new or used. My car was new when I bought it in 2006 but it seems to need way too many maintenance visits because the the need maitenance light comes on every 5k or so and when I go visit the dealership, they find more things to work on even for a car that is only three years old! Last visit they said I needed two new tires and said that I must have the tires they recommend as my car requires them. I found recently I could have gotten away with tires that were at least $60 less each! Grrr.
Nice uneventful and somewhat quiet evening last night at my apt complex. Now if I can just get the foreign families to quiet down when they come in to the courtyard around 10pm from their evening walk with their children (do not understand why the young children are up so late). The family with the toddler had him yelling for his mother but he finally stopped. Went to bed too late but woke up just 10 mins before the alarm went off due to nature calling me. So may I have a nice cheese omelet, extra crispy bacon, some fresh cantelope and a big mug of mocha with a bit of whip cream, please, thank you very much! Hope everyone has a good day today.

The cafe is really hopping today. I have been in mostly lurk mode these days. I'll have the same thing MC had for breakfast, belgian waffle, crispy bacon and tons of syrup with real butter. I met a man about 3 weeks ago and I am crazy about him! Our first date was so great, it was easy and felt like we had been there before. His name is John. We both have sons named Bailey and we are both pisces. He is a landscape architect. So he is earthy and very creative. I am so excited! I have had a very long dry spell and really thought that I was to never met someone like this. Yeah! I'll have extra bacon please!

Hi Kykat! We do have a motion sensor light in the back yard, lit the guy right up :-)
Our neighbor was outside in his yard at the time and was yelling at this fence-jumping guy too.
And that motion sensor light is what alerted my husband that Tansey was outside on the deck (naughty naughty Tansey). Hermes seemed -really- interested in what was outdoors while he was at our back window, that was another clue that Miss Vrrr had gotten outside when she shouldn't have. She got out when my husband went out back to yell at the guy in our yard.
I want a motion sensor light out front too. I've been asking the husband for almost five years to put one in, because it's SO dark when I get out in the mornings in the fall and winter, and the streetlights in the boulevard give very little real light, I can hardly see to put my key in the lock.

I have work late today, so I'm relaxing in bed with Taco until it's time to head out! He is completely passed out. Luckily he doesnt seem to have gotten sick since this morning so hopefully it was a short time thing. Here is us snuggling!

Hi all!!!
SM, oh my feel better soon my friend.
SMM, I am glad you had a quiet night at the apt. It's nice to be able to get some sleep.
Gini, you just have the most adorable kitties...I hope Taco feels better.
Tina...WHOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You go girl. I am so happy for you!!!! I hope you and John are in for the long haul, he sounds perfect for you!!!Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #

Yay for Tina and her new man-friend! Gini, loved the picture. Taco is such a handsome kitty and he has an expression of such relaxation. sorry for the bad dreams, 2Popoki. Something in the real world that might be causing you stress is making an impression on your subconscious causing you to have a really bad dream aka nightmare.
Okay it is roughly 1:25pm and I am wanting to be home cuddling my cats. I ate peanut butter sandwich, a glass of 2% milk and a muskateers bar for lunch and now I want a nap. I really believe that they need to institute nap rooms for adults at work so that we can go and take a 15-30 nap. Just that small amount of time has been proven to help keep people more alert at work. Now if we could just get corporate America to implement this into their health programs (yea right and we can't hardly get decent health care).

Yay Tina! Good news for both of us. New men in our lives. I have only had the one date but he has checked in multiple times today with a nice little text message. He said he had a nice time last night and hopes to see me again soon! SM, so sorry about your illness! YIKES! Gini, love the pix! Can we start a compain for mandatory "nap" time at work!

I'm all about a cat nap at work! MC, isn't it nice to have someone check in from time to time? John has a farm about 1 1/2 hours from here and it is pure magic. I am headed over after work. I am taking my man puppy Bleau. John does not have a problem with 5 cats and 3 dogs! The kids don't freak him out either. What a brave man!!!LOL

Hi, Everyone! Gosh, I've missed most of the cafe and it's closing in on time for the NS! Of course I had to watch this mornings coverage of the Tour de France, which is a terrible time eater. Then I had to go to the grocery store to get stuff for our friends who are coming to stay with us and ride with Mr. WWM in the MS 150 this weekend. I have tried to think of anything and everything that they might want for breakfast, which means that I bought too much stuff.
It's still so blasted hot here but I am hoping that the forecast for Saturday will hold. High of 92, mostly cloudy but with winds from the east. The cloud cover would really help the people doing the ride. Wind from the east means that they will be riding into the wind all day Saturday. But if it is partly to mostly cloudy, it would sure help.
I'm so tired today for some reason. Maybe I need a Red Bull!
Good grief, SM - take care of you!!!! Is swine flu going around there?

CM! You goofball! FF might agree with you. He was sure that after his nasty divorce there would never be "anyone else"!

..... I'm so happy for those that find it "later" in life again!.... two of mine and Hubbs' best friends (54 her and 60 him)... have found "a whole new world"....... she was a widow at 45, and he went through an unpleasant divorce about 5 years ago....... they both play golf with us of course.....
.... I would always see her practicing on the putting green when we would go out for our "couples" tournaments - she was in the ladies league with me.... finally one Sunday I asked her "why don't you play with us?".... she was like "right, like with who?".... I said - hey, if you want to play, I'll get you a partner, we have a handful of single guy friends of Hubbs that "stands in" when one of the Hubbs is out of town or something, let me call one of them for you"..... so she said ok..... I called the guy, and said "hey, one of my lady golfers needs a partner, are you in, he said "sure"..... so the next Sunday they played together..... fast forward a month later to the next couple event - there they were, partners again.... and the next month and the next month.... from there, they were "seen" at the club having dinner together, seen boating, going to parties together, and have now become "quite the couple".... does it matter that she is 5'11" and he is 5"5"? no!..... they are so cute together, and act like a couple of teenagers!...... I just love happy endings!........

Hey me too! I love happy endings, especially mine! TF and MC are so blessed.

Hi all!
Tina I'm so excited for you!!! John sounds like a great guy - I'm so happy you found him!
MC - glad your date went to well, too! YAY!SM - swine flu??? Yuck! I hope you feel better soon!!!
I'm tired today and anxiously awaiting the weekend!
Drove the borrowed car today and though it's older than mine with more mileage, it drives really well, so I have no complaints. It's taking some getting used to, driving a smaller car (mine's a Jeep), but that's not a problem.Had another good day at the new job this morning. For the second day in a row I booked 3 appointments!! One was with Tiffany's which was a big hit with the bosses!
The gym is quiet so far tonight. So far the new guy hasn't been able to bring anyone new in the doors in the about 3 weeks he's worked here. -
Whoo hoo! Tiffany's! Now that is impressive! A toast for GD!

:)
It was funny - I called them on my second day there and got a call back on my voice mail. The bosses were impressed they'd even called me back. I called the lady back and then didn't hear anything back from her. The other day I was going through my old messages and noticed she'd also left her email address for me, so I emailed her. We emailed back and forthe for the last two days and now she's set for a meeting next week.
The job really does get better when you've got people calling you back.
I'm calling a lot of the companies for the second time this week and am hearing back from a few of them. Maybe this job will work out after all.... -
yea GD!!!!
I have to run to the grocery store for some items...the come home and eat..fun..I did all my nightly chores already so I am happy about that..Posted 2 years ago by cricketsmama #
