They are at the vet for an exam and their second batch of shots. Lucy used the box right after I scooped the litter and I noticed some blood in her poo. I hope it's not something serious, but after having lost a kitten from the shelter to Panleukopenia earlier in the year, I am very nervous. These had already had their first vaccination when we picked them up and other than that, Lucy has seemed fine. Eating and using the bathroom (from what I can tell) normally.

They are both in my thoughts. Did you mention to the vet about the blood in the poo when you droped them off for their shots? Did he sound concerned? Are the kitties lethargic at all? Hugs to you, I'm sorry about your previous loss.

Thank you! My mom actually dropped them off but I did send a fax including the records we got from the rescue agency when we adopted them. I also mentioned the blood and the previous kitten having Panleuk (we only had her for six days). As for lethargic, not that I can tell. They are both playing as hard as ever.
I don't know what it could be. Would the clumping litter that I didn't know they shouldn't have cause this?

They seem to think she will be ok. Lucy's fecal came back negative except a cyst and some clostridium but they said that can be normal in healthy cats. Because of the cyst, they ran a Giardia test, but that came back negative. Her feces was negative for blood but her anal sacs were full so they expressed them. They said when they have full anal sacs they have to strain when they're going to the bathroom and that could have caused the blood I was seeing. They got their second bout of shots, dewormed and Advantage Multi. Mitzi checked out fine on all accounts. Sixteen weeks and they are 3.5 pounds each.
Both seem back to their normal, playful selves already. I picked up the Yesterday's News litter so I am in the process of switching them to that from the clumping. So far they are still using the box and I've not seen any more blood. Keeping my fingers crossed it stays that way.
Thank you for your good thoughts. I am keeping an eye on her, but I am hopeful she'll be fine.
