Hi all!

  1. I have had my "Shimp" for about 10 years now he is in and out of the house but prefers mostly out. A stray mother gave birth to a few baby kittens under my porch about nine weeks ago. The mother is very wild and will not let me touch her. I've given away one of the beautiful babies and had another one set up for pick-up today. Then the most awful thing happened! This morning when I went outside, there was a dead rabbit under my porch ripped to pieces and my kitten babies are missing!!! The mother seems as if she is in mourning and even my Shimp seems so sad. I can't figure out what has happened but I fear for the worst. I live in Northern GA in a subdivision and no dogs wander around. I wonder what animal has broken up my beautiful family. Any ideas on what I can do? I've searched everywhere.

  2. Hi Tiff! That story saddens me! I hope no other animal got to the kittens! I will keep you in my prayers. Welcome to our kitty community!

  3. Before you give up on finding the kittens, try to think where you might have hidden if a raccoon or other scary animal was chasing you. Kittens can crawl into the tiniest little places.

Keep feeding mama so she has a reason to stick around. If you can trap her, you can get her fixed so she can't have more kittens.

  4. I really hope you find the kittens. :(
If you do find the kittens, don't get the mom fixed yet, if you do, then she wouldn't be able to produce milk. Correct me if I'm wrong. XP

  5. Your feral mom may have hidden the babies if there was danger lurking. They often do. Then they'll make a strange sounding cry to sort of throw you off and take attention off the kittens. Feral moms are very smart and very canny. Don't give up hope yet.
