  1. Melissa, one of our new members of TDK, is currently at the vet with Layla, her 9 week old Balinese. Last night, Layla didn't eat any of her dinner and just stayed in one place all night on the bed, only moving to shift positions. Melissa didn't think much of it until Layla didn't follow her out of the bed this morning and didn't eat or use the litter box when Melissa tried to get her to move. She just got back up on the bed and curled up again. She's breathing fine and will purr, but she won't really move at all. So... any and all prayers are much appreciated. I'm sure she'll post something when she knows what's going on.

  2. Layla had a fever of 105 and is currently being tested for something viral while also being tested for feline leukemia and AIDs. She's still at the vet, and if her fever is down by this afternoon, she can go home to be monitored closely. If it's not, she'll have to stay the night. Please keep thinking of her and her very worried mama.

  10. Thank you everyone for your prayers. Layla is now back home. She was thankfully negative for feline leukemia and AIDs. She has tapeworms, roundworms, and another intestinal infection, which they treated at the vet's. She'll be on antibiotics for the next two weeks, but I think she'll be fine. The first thing she did when she got home was start eating.

Everyone at the veterinarian I went to was great. They all complimented Layla on her good behavior and her looks. I'm just thrilled to have her home again.

  14. Oh, thank heavens for that!!! I know what it's like to have a sick kitten - the distress and worry is terrible! My sumi had tapeworm eggs too - it was the wormer that made her sick. Did baby Layla have a worming tablet yet? White healing light from across the Atlantic ocean to Layla and Melissa - may she continue on this road to recovery and a happy future with you!
