  3. Bravo and well done Mr. WWM! What a couragous and tough thing to do! I think Mr. WWM deserves some time with Sven or maybe it should be Inga and some time in the whirlpool for his tired muscles.

  4. I'm sure Mr. WWM will sleep well tonight. Nothing like being home in your own bed. I hope you get a good night's sleep too, WWM. I know that you will be happy to have him home! What an adventure! :)

  6. WWM, Sorry I wasn't around on the weekend to see Mr. WWM through his adventure. Please let him know that I too am so very thankful for him and the others who are willing to endure 150 mile ride to bring awareness and funding to the cause. He is "The #1 Man of Midland" Horray!!!!!

  9. Hi, Everyone and thank you!

They were tired, hungry, sunburned and very satisfied at having done the ride. Mr. WWM said that he actually felt stronger the second day but that it was so, so hot. The wind was at their back that day so there wasn't a breeze to cool them off. It was fun to hear the stories of the rest stations and how the volunteers had made it such a great ride. I can't remember for sure but I think that this local ride raised over $150,000 for MS. Mr. WWM was named as a top fundraiser and will be receiving a special jersey.

They are already talking about next year and I am toying, along with two friends here, of trying to train and maybe do the ride next year, too. We will see!

Here are a few pictures from the ride. Thank you all again for all of the support and prayers that you sent his way!

  11. Amazing!! the top fundraiser!! WWM you must be so proud of him!!! What a wonderful man you have!!

    Posted 2 years ago by 2bpurring #

  12. Well, not THE top fundraiser! He was the 6th highest fundraiser. I think that all of our friends are now afraid to open emails from him! If you'd like to see his website, and how he went about it, here's the link. For information purposes only, not to make a donation! He's all done (until next year)!:

  23. Way to go Mr WWM!

  24. The massage was so good that he sort of slid back into the house. I know that he really needed it. The massage therapist told him that it will help if he will take some tepid baths with Epsom salts, too. And he has another massage on Thursday that I won in a silent auction. We don't know this massage therapist, but the price was right!

Linda, I'm trying to figure out about next year. I'd really like to give it a go but I ride a hybrid. Can't do 150 miles on a hybrid, I don't think. Plus, I'm trying to figure out when I could train because I don't want to give up the gym.

Posted 2 years ago by WillowandWindismom #

  25. Do you mean cross between mountain bike and road bike hybrid? Maybe you'll win the Cervello bike in the contest! btw, I thought the Aussie/German rider on Friday was so cute when he knew he would win the stage! Heinrich Houssler?
He kept looking into the camera next to him and grinning :)

Posted 2 years ago by linda #

  26. Yeah, my bike is a cross between a road bike and a mountain bike. Not very aerodynamic and it weighs a lot more than a road bike. But I could put road bike tires on it and it might help. Of course, the Cervelo will be a big step up!

Yes, he was cute - I thought it was so sweet that he burst into tears! I'm not a huge fan of Contador, but it looks like he might ride away with it.

  27. I think so too, but you never know! and why oh why did they give him a Saint Bernard as a prize?! I mean it's cute (and big!) and all, but he lives in hot Spain for crying out loud!

and I'm kinda rooting for Bradley Wiggins now...love his accent!

Posted 2 years ago by linda #

  28. WWM, so glad to hear he's home, relaxed and ready to go again! I love the pics, too. I was going to try to print them out to keep ~ but, even tho I have a flickr account, too, I couldn't figure out how to do it.... Does Mr. WWM know if it's possible? Aw, H*ll, I'm starting to cry again :-(

  29. Aw, kittymom, HUG! (((KM)))

    Posted 2 years ago by mollycat71 #

  30. Betty, how tall are you? I'm 5' 4", and I have a Nishiki International road bike with a Suntour derailleur; it could be yours if you think it would work for you; it's just plain too hot here in San Antonio for me to use it....
